BarrowG1/4" Composite Plate Filter GLA-TLB53

Works just like it is supposed to. Comes with an extra filter. Feels like it is made of quality materials. Its nice being able to see through it and check on the filter.

I definitely recommend it. Over a year running without problems with growth, just a kill coil and distilled water. Day in, Day out.

The mesh being stainless had be worried a bit but it’s been fine so far with my mixed metal loop, brass copper nickel. Some of the particles that it caught would not have been captured by some other filters here on amazon. Be sure to point it in the right direction so your flow keeps the junk in the tube. I placed mine just after the radiator because I figured the junk I was trying to catch would get caught before it made its way to my pump, but I don’t think placement matters all that much. May not be necessary if you clean your radiator and parts beforehand.

I did not purchase this to be a filter but to contain a kill coil  Silver Coils - Antimicrobial .999 Fine Silver Strip  with out having to worry about the kill coil getting lodged some where, and because it looked similar to the Monsoon MMRS reservoir I have in the loop I thought it would look great. Since I did not find any size for the kill coil I did not know if it would work or if I would have to modify the kill coil. The kill coil as you receive it is about 1/2 the length of the glass portion of the filter and the diameter is perfect for sliding in and being captured by the ends of the filter (no screen needed for this, which I removed) and visually complements the loop very well.
