Since its foundation in 1930, CITIZEN has promoted a multi-cultural mindset that fosters excellence and creativity. The very name of the brand conveys a deep respect toward craftsmanship and considered as familiar by citizens the world-over. So as a “citizen” of the world, we bear the responsibility to help cultivate a culture of positive change and on-going evolution through our craft. We take that mission seriously and steadfastly welcome what the future may bring. As a true manufacture d’horlogerie, CITIZEN integrates a comprehensive manufacturing process from creating individual components to a watch’s final assembly. It’s an artisan’s approach to watch making based on pushing forward the boundaries of technology and leveraging our experience toward exploring new possibilities. One pivotal technological breakthrough was the development of a light-driven watch. CITIZEN pioneered this engineering innovation well ahead of other watch manufacturers as early as 1976, which led to the launch of the highly acclaimed Eco-Drive in 1995. Utilizing electrical power converted from virtually any light source, this extraordinary innovation changed forever the way watches could be powered. Eco-Drive eliminated the need to ever replace batteries, which made it especially beneficial to areas where such specialist batteries were not obtainable. This leveled the field for citizens of virtually every country to be able to experience unrestricted joy of wearing and using a CITIZEN watch. The product development policy, “The Fusion of Technology and Beauty,” remains a constant motivation for us to merge cutting-edge technology with perfection of design beauty, which as a consequence inspires people to strive to be their best at any time. CITIZEN launches a new campaign in collaboration with Wieden+Kennedy, Better Starts Now. This is the simple belief that no matter who you are or what you do, it is always possible to make something better — and now is the time to start doing it. We believe that better and now are both infinite, and that there is always a next ‘better’ and a new ‘now’ in which you can start pursuing it. It was clear from the onset of this project that we are dedicated to this ideal…not to the past but to the present, and all the way we can improve it. To help communicate this belief to the world we have created a new global CITIZEN brand movie, brand identity and brand website that represents out Better Starts Now philosophy. CITIZEN takes casual modern to a new level with the distinctly constructed Chandler Collection. Effortless, modern design with a touch of color are key to these timepieces. Show off your light powered watch, featured with a mocha brown leather nato strap, stainless steel case and parchment white dial.

Beautiful
The pictures are accurate. I love the leather band, the color/tone of it, front and back. It feels really well-made and fine. The band is obviously removable but that also means that it can be slightly adjusted so that the metal loops opposite each other can be aligned. The watch is completely quiet. Ticking can't be heard.Registration of purchase and warranty is done online. Easy to do.

Clean and simple.
Clean and simple. Watch band is thin and inexpensive (notice I didn't say cheap). When you only pay $85 for a watch you want your money to go to the watch not the band. Very retro, no date, day, chrono, stop watch, compass etc ; the face is off white with black numbers and dials; watch is not luminescent so its a day time watch. It's quartz and solar so its easy to maintain and accurate. I own several Citizen watches and they have never let me down.

Simple and Elegant
The watch looks great. I had my eye on several other similar models, but what sold this one for me is the leather NATO band. So far, I'm quite happy with my choice.NATO bands do tend to be thin, so I am wondering how long the included band will last, but for me that's not a problem: When I buy a watch, the first thing I typically do is get rid of the included band and buy one of my own choice. The fact that I can get any use at all out of the included band is a big plus for me.

Strap Width is Actually 20mm. Otherwise, Excellent Product.
First off: strap width is 20mm.Somewhere, either on this product description, or on another, I had seen that it was 25mm, which is incorrect. The data on Citizenwatch.com also is missing this information.I have owned a Citizen Eco-Drive watch since 2006 and worn it as my daily-wear watch almost continuously since then. In all that time I have never had to replace the battery, nor get the watch serviced. It has taken a beating and is still going strong. What eventually failed was the metallic strap clasp. Getting that fixed through my local jeweler has been an ordeal, but in the meantime, it spurred me to finally get an alternate watch. I was drawn to this one due to it's minimalist design, and it's use of a NATO strap. It is comfortable, legible, lightweight. The strap is a bit on the short side compared to other NATO straps I've seen and worn, but not too much so. It is made of a nicely finished leather and is comfortable to wear.If this is anything like my last Citizen I expect it to give me a good decade + of use as well.

Easy reader solar watch is near perfect
1 year ownership and no issues. Very good investment if you are thinking of purchasing. Simple and easy to read dial face just as I prefer. Do not know why it is so difficult to find an easy to read solar watch. 98% of most watches have too much stuff squeezed on the dial face that you can't even tell what time it is even after staring at the watch for 15 seconds. Thin leather wrist strap is comfortable, keeps accurate time (better than my Seiko solar watch). No moisture entering watch as compared to my Seiko solar that I have to air out to eliminate the moisture getting into watch every now and then. You will not regret your purchase. Also, I sealed the leather band with Snowseal which will extend the band life considerably from my experience with other watch bands and shoes.Only other luxuries that are missing are dial hands do not glow in the dark or the option for a stainless steel band. Date readout would be nice but not necessary.I always remove my watch every night and place by the nightlight since it is always on at night, so why not take advantage of it.

I waited and happy i did
At first my instinct when i opened the box for this watch was that it wasn’t as i had expected or seen online. A bit thinner and not the girth i was looking for as i have with my other cotizen watches i own. But i said ill wait and see how i feel after wearing it a day or two. I’m so glad i did. What a classic look! I wear dress clothes and this watch is the accent that pushes my wardrobe into GQ status. I recommend this watch for any gentleman who likes to dress nice and wants a classic timeless time piece to have in his watch collection.

Great watch.
I’ve had this watch for over 5 years now and it really has been a great watch. Easy to read, large face, accurate etc. No date feature on it but that’s fine with me. The watch just needs to tell time as far as I’m concerned. Keep it simple.

Not sure
I'm not sure, and I hate to accuse. But a couple of things are off. First, the leather band isn't quite the quality I was expecting from the picture and the brand. I think the cow it came from ate a lot of plastic. The main thing is the crystal, which already has a crack after maybe six weeks of wearing it. And, this is the kicker, there was a speck of dust on the dial, so inside the crystal. It migrated from one side to the other, and now I guess it's found a permanent home somewhere along the edge. So I can't help but wonder if the strap and the crystal were swapped--that would certainly explain the piece of dust. Dunno. I just sort of feel like I bought a $30 watch with a $50 name stamped on it.That said, I kept the watch because I like how it looks (especially now that the piece of dust has disappeared). I just bought a brown leather strap to replace the cheap one. Then I bought a black leather strap, and it's like I have two watches. I really like the NATO aspect, which makes changing the straps easy. If the crack (which is pretty tiny and unnoticeable to anyone but me) doesn't grow, I'll keep this as a kick-around-town watch for a while.

Fantastic minimal Bauhaus design + eco-drive
This is a lot of watch for the price. Fantastic minimal Bauhaus design + eco-drive. Strap looks great too. Feels a bit stiff but it's leather and it will loosen up.NOTE - the dimensions are very wrong in the product specifications. I believe in the description they are correct. Should be 40-41mm case diameter, not 46. 46 would be too big anyway.

I received the watch and loved the way it looked and felt
I received the watch and loved the way it looked and felt. However, the second hand ticked between the markers (I hope I described that right). Awaiting on a replacement, and hopefully that was just a one off, but it was slightly concerning on the quality. Also, I wish the dial or hands were luminous (glow in the dark). Not bad for the price tho, got some compliments on it.
