A "sign-nificant" assistant
Time was running out! The Alcan Boogey event was less than 8 hours away and I had just been recruited to create a 6' x 1.5' sign for this event honoring the 70th anniversary of the building of the Alaska-Canadian Highway (Alcan Highway). The surface I was using was a white plastic banner preprinted with a balloon border. I had just gotten my Artogrph 12 x 18 inch Light Tracer II Light Box. Whew! It saved the day! I generated the sign letters on the computer, printed them out and taped them, a segment at a time, to the Light Tracer. I then placed the banner material over my template and was able to trace the letters onto the sign with ease. Even with 2 layers between my final product and the light, I was able to see perfectly and work efficiently. Prior to the Light Tracer II you'd have found me struggling at the window trying to use the daylight to complete this task. What an awesome assistant! It made this project so much lighter! NOTE: The product was described well and met my requirements perfectly. Thanks Amazon!

Works for everything I need it for
For years I have used a window (no good at night), cassoroel dish upside down over a night light (little lumpy) and previously purchased light table (way to small). I have only had this a short time, but find it a good purchase. If I can up load the picture you will see it does a good job of shining through more than one layer of fabric (the picture will show no layers, one layer and then 2 of fairly heavy flannel. The light is not tiring to the eyes and the slant to the table is comfortable. The window method is still great for bigger projects, but this size is good for most. In fact I recomend that you do not go any smaller. I wish it had a frosted glass to work on as I think it may scratch with use of embossing tools.

Light Tracer 2 Light Box
This is a great light box. It is very light weight and comfortable when tracing pictures on it. I am happy that it came in 2 sizes. I got the one that fits my 15x11 paper with room on sides so I don't have to trace part of it; then move paper up and trace the rest. The box was about 16x18. Perfect size. Not awkward to use at this size either. I love it. I first used one at my art class. We used to hold our drawing up to the window and trace; which is hard on the arms after a while. Once I used this at class; I knew I had to get one. So much easier and convenient to use while sitting down to trace.

glad i decided on the larger size!
i have always used an artograph light box for my drawings---i do artwork for a small gallery and i use the light box to trace over a "template sketch" to keep the drawings consistent yet still original. my husband started using my light box to do constuction drawings so i decided we needed another one and i thought i would try the larger size. it is a bit big on my desktop but is easier to work on than the smaller size. the one tube is adequate light as long as you do NOT use an overhead light as well. the box does not heat up and stays stationary when working. amazon offered the best pricing and delivery was very quick. overall i highly recommend this product for all types of uses!

Please Read all negative Reviews First....
I am a very positive upbeat person and the type of person that doesn't leave negative comments about a product but I have no choice when it comes to this Light Box! Please read the negative comments that were left about this product as they are Very Very True! When I received the Light Board I opened it up as I heard something inside. I opened up the Light Board the florescent bulb was just rolling around on its own inside when the bulb should have been in a box and I was surprised that it wasn't shattered! Also, the paper (florescent paper??) that is inside the light board that should fit snugly inside the groves made for the paper to fit was to big and popped up and I couldn't get the paper to lay flat and fit into the groves that were made for the paper to fit into so I ended up using some masking tape to stop the paper from popping up then I got the bulb in and turned (surprised the bulb even worked) it on then I had to immediately put my sun glasses on because of how bright this board is and the non-stop flickering! I do a lot of quilting and applique and because of the horrible flickering it gave me a Huge Migraine to say the least! I have Nothing Positive to say about this light board! It is made of Chinsy plastic and is NOT worth a DIME! So once again please read those Negative reviews and believe everything that is said about this product as I didn't and all I got was Grief!!

Very useful; good value.
I got this and I love it! I do illumination (medieval art), applique and loom beading, and it has been a dream to use. The light is bright and even, and I have used medium weight fabric on it successfully, The surface is big enough to do full-page tracing for illumination. It's light enough to carry easily and painters tape peels off without a mark or sticky spot. I've had this for over a year now and have yet to experience any issues with it. Just remember to hold down the "on" button for a few seconds to warm up the bulb.

Very good, compact lightbox
As an artist coping with very little work space, I have been very pleased with this lightbox. It works well. Excellent for paste ups, very good for tracing. Wish I had space for a much larger one. Lightboxes are so helpful in the studio! I am updating this review: I purchased this Artograph LightTracer 2 Light Box several years ago. As of this date, Jan 2017, it is still working in perfect condition. As for how long the light bulb lasts--well, mine still works after all this time. However, I do not leave it on for hours at a time; I turn it off when I walk away from my work. I cannot, therefore, vouch for how difficult it might be to replace it.
