These are listed as rechargeable. How can that be?

*** this listing specifically highlights in bold before clicking on it that it rechargeable batteries ***. apparently the manufacturer hasn't fixed the listing and the button that lets me report errors on a listing is disappeared in this app. I am frustrated by false listings, please, Seller OR Amazon: update it! it's in the short thing when you first search for something before you click on the specific listing, again, in bold.

How do these compare with lithium?

It is as good a any other Alkaline. Lithium is always a better performer just depends on if the cost is worth it to you. For me these work well. If it is in an item that is difficult to change the battery or equipment that is critical might want to use lithium.

Will this work for replacing a golden power a23g 12v?

Yes, it's the same battery. Power is the brand name of the battery, which comes with many wireless doorbells and metallic gold is their exterior color. My Power brand battery lasted about 4 years, in our back door doorbell, before we had to replace it.
