AMTECH NC-559-V2-TF Solder Flux - 30cc Solder Kit with Matching No-clean AMTECH Core Wire NC-61 Sn63/Pb37

This is THE BEST flux for all types of soldering. There's lots of different flavors of flux out there, but in my experience nothing comes close to this. It's tacky which means it's mildly viscous instead of runny and going all over the board. It turns into a pool of flux when heated. The real marvel of this flux is not the tackyness, but how long it lasts. I've been using fluxes that just burn up the instant my iron touches it, and if it's not cleaned immediately it turns into a hardened mass of caramelized cancer. That's not good.This stuff though? I can put my iron back inside of what I already put down 3 or 4 times before it's no good. And when it's not good, it doesn't turn into a sticky mass of hardened cancer like other fluxes. It's still very much liquid and can be easily cleaned with alcohol and a brush, or blown away on low heat and high flow with a heat station.The only downside to this flux is the dispenser. It does not come with a plunger or syringe, but you can find them elsewhere and use them with this.

This is the real amtech. They used to be fake around here on amazon but seems Amtech step up and started doing business on Amazon after Louis's rant about them.

This is awesome flux, the best I've ever used. It's very slow to boil away, the residue is mild and easily cleaned off. Even the smoke is less and not as noxious as almost every other flux I've used. The syringe applicator works perfectly, but the default tube doesn't come with a plunger, so if you don't have a 30cc plunger, get the part marked "kit" to get the plunger with it. The syringe comes with a short needle, but it's a standard Luer lock, so any dispensing needle will work. I put a slightly finer needle on it for more precision, and had no issues. It's very manageable to apply, it doesn't string and isn't intensely sticky. It flows under heat, but stays mostly put, making cleanup easier. I did some informal tests, and it deals with surface oxidation like the lower end of the high activity fluxes, but the residue doesn't seem to cause corrosion, acting more like a low-activity flux.

Yay! This is the real deal. Amtech NC-559-V2-TF is the best solder flux. Sometimes the best costs a bit more money than the rest but it's so much worth it. My repair project has been delayed twice due to buying an inferior flux that was terrible and a counterfeit purchase of Amtech on eBay. The eBay Scamtech Flux was a bubbly watery mess made in China and as far as I know you can only get Amtech in the USA.If your soldering project is important to you and you want and need it done right buy this stuff! Nothing beats the consistency, performance and amazing perfect shiny solder balls you'll get when using the Rolls Royce of solder fluxes. I purchased the kit and thought the needle was missing but found it taped to the side of the plunger. The complete kit is definitely a good buy and a must have for micro soldering. The fine precision needle is perfect for microscope soldering purposes. You don't want a huge fat needle spilling flux all over the place.

The Real StuffThis flux matches the Amtech 559 flux I purchased from the Louis Rossmann Group.. Great flux for SMD board work.
