Review: A pocket size top quality no nonsense sailing knife - The Crew Pro Series is the smaller folding riggers made by Myerchin. At just 3 5/8 inches or 170mm long the knife is good size for the pocket knife. Of course the drawback is the blade is also smaller. Keep this is in mind when buying the knife. If you are looking for the a larger knife consider the Captain's knife. This is a generation 2 knife by Myerchin. The principle difference is the use of liner locks instead of the bail locking system they used to employ. You can now open and close the blade and spike one handed! This is a major step up from so many folding riggers out there. The action of the blade and spike is very smooth. The overall fit and finish is exceptional. And the quality of the steel seems first rate. I purchased the version with the Bubinga wood handles and the it looks awesome. The wood grain just pops and it appears securely fashioned and well fitted between the stainless bolsters. Marlin spike is a little smaller than I expect it. (Yes I read the description which said 1 7/8 inches) Despite the small size, the shape is excellent and the tip is not so sharp that it will damage lines. It should prove useful for smaller lines on board a sailing craft or for people who work with paracord. I see this knife as an excellent back up for the Myerchin Knife W100P Pro Wood Handle Offshore System Knife and Marlinspike or the Myerchin Knives Generation 2 WF300P Gen 2 Captain Pro or as a primary rigger for someone who is looking for a well made small rigging knife that can be operated one handed. It cost a little more than the well known knife brands you see, but this knife is made by a sailor for sailors. It is a top quality no nonsense sailing knife.
Review: It’s considerably smaller than anticipated - Excellent looking smooth opening and closing and the materials appear to be top notch. Will fit nicely into any pocket or clip on a belt. I will learn to live with and in time I’m sure I will appreciate its size.

### ⭐⭐⭐ It’s considerably smaller than anticipated
*by I***T on December 22, 2023*

Excellent looking smooth opening and closing and the materials appear to be top notch. Will fit nicely into any pocket or clip on a belt. I will learn to live with and in time I’m sure I will appreciate its size.

### ⭐⭐ The steel is absolute garbage
*by S***O on February 26, 2019*

I was excited to finally have a simple rigging knife to carry while cruising, but the knife got wet with salt water and IMMEDIATELY starting pitting on the marlin spike. There was so much rust from this instantaneous corrosion that it stained my pocket, where I had the knife clipped. This isn't just annoying, it's potentially very dangerous. Surface pits from corrosion are points where the tool can fail under load (the kind of load you might encounter while, say, trying to undo a knot). Save your money and find something with higher quality steel. The wooden scales look nice I guess.
