Cuts cardboard well
This is my first such device and I am pretty happy with it. I cut cardboard down for a shredder with it and it gets the job done. I'd expect nothing more from a device under $40

Easy to Use and Cuts Boxes Quickly
I order a lot of pet supplies so I have lots of boxes delivered. I needed something that could cut up those boxes quickly and easily. This box cutter does the trick. Easy to use and recharges quickly. I absolutely love this item and was well worth purchasing.

So happy with my purchase
I like to create little fairy or witches houses for my granddaughter to paint and play, this scissor has been a godsend to cut carton boxes to any measure we like.

Not what I expected, but works fine.
I'm not sure what I expected when I bought this, and my opinion is mixed. I mainly bought this to cut up cardboard boxes faster and easier. It does that, but it requires some elbow grease to get the cardboard through. It can only handle one layer of cardboard at a time. Also, if you have something you want to cut and it is not flat or thin enough to fit the narrow blade opening, this is not the tool for you.On the positive side, the unit holds a charge really well, the blade lock and trigger button makes it feel safe while using, and the handle feels comfortable. I didn't get tired while squeezing the trigger during use. It does a good job of cutting items that would be cumbersome or even painful to cut with a scissors. And it is nice to cut items up without worrying about damaging a cutting surface underneath, like a table or desk.

Stopped working after 4ish months
Let’s start with the good: This was easy-to-use, and in a house with an inquisitive 3-year-old, I liked that the motor wouldn’t start until you’d hit the button and compressed the bottom lever. It cuts through medium and thin cardboard like a dream, and looks pretty good as well. My husband has a small business and receives and sends a lot of packages, so this helped him really quickly get through a lot of cardboard, just like the influencer’s instagram reel depicted. The not-so-good: We purchased this in December and it stopped working in May. The motor appears to be burnt out. It is fully charged, and the motor does not even attempt to turn the wheel. From what I can see, there’s nothing stuck in the blade; the motor just isn’t running. This is a big disappointment since I don’t feel like this got a lifetime of standard use in the 4ish months we used it. He used it maybe 1-2 times per month for 1-2 hours each time, for probably a total of 100 boxes cut.The bad: in order to get product support, you have to enter the model number, and none of these options would pull up on the Black + Decker site: the model number on the device (BCRC115), the model number on Amazon (BRCR115ff), nor the only other number on the device (E173915). Because of this, I am not able to send them a written communication and instead have to call them during business hours, which aren’t a good fit for me with my working schedule. Unfortunately, this means I will likely have to eat the $30 loss.

HOLY TOLEDO ‼️
This is the BEST BEST invention ever. I had a 5x3 foot box 📦 I needed desperately to discard. I’m a senior citizen female with a fractured leg …. Although I live in a gated community the dumpsters on property too far for me with my injury. Our valet trash will take it but it needed to be cut down! I ordered this and WOW …. It was very easy to operate extremely safe too . I DID IT! One overnight charge it was ready to go. If I can do it ~ trust me ~ anyone can!If you are debating .. debate no longer . It’s a WIN~WIN in all categories !

Best Looking Rotary Cutter, but I Wouldn't Recommend This Particular one...
It's a shame too. I really wanted to like this one, because it really is the only one I've seen that's at least a little bit attractive. However, the last one that I had that I got almost a year ago now, had a no-load speed of 250rpm. This one has a no-load speed of 220rpm. My old one had a 2000mAh battery. The size of the battery for this one isn't detailed anywhere. It took 2-3 hours to charge the old one's battery. They don't tell you that for this one. My old one could last for just over an hour on a full battery charge. This one can last "up to 40 minutes."The biggest difference though, is the safety button. With my old one, I would press the button on the top of it and the button would light up, letting me know I could pull the trigger and the rotary cutter would be operational. Now this here is the kicker. If I let up on the trigger the cutter would of course, stop. But the light would stay on for a few seconds making it so that I could resume cutting without having to push the button again. I think it was something like, after 5 seconds of no use the light would turn back off and then the safety button would have to be pressed. The way this one works is pretty similar. It has a button on the top that has to be pressed in order for it to work. But with this one, you don't push the button and THEN pull the trigger to make it operational. You have to be holding the trigger already, and while you're holding it you push the button and the blade will start turning. Let go of the trigger for even a split second though, and you have to do it again...Yet ANOTHER downside has to do with when you need a replacement blade. This is also the reason my old one isn't operational anymore. Well, it works, but something got messed up when I PUT THE WRONG SIZE REPLACEMENT BLADE IN IT!! That's right. All of these rotary cutters? Some of them actually use slightly different sized blades than others. And none of them that I saw had ever mentioned it, so I found out the hard way. And so, I did some investigating recently and here are some of the sizes of replacement blades that I saw:Diameter Thickness-- 1.7 in / 43 mm unknown (that's for this one, the Black+Decker)-- 1.65 in / 42 mm 0.08 in / 2 mm-- 1.58 in / 40 mm 0.04 in / 1.1 mm-- 1.57 in / 40 mm 0.06 in / 1.5 mm-- 1.57 in / 40 mm 0.08 in / 2 mmAs y'all can see, this has become very frustrating. And then, does the blade's thickness really matter? Well, I don't really know. I'm pretty sure the diameter matters though. So if you're someone who has already gotten this and plans to keep it, just keep in mind that there are different sizes of replacements out there. Here is what I recommend though. I came across some fabric cutters out here on Amazon that, instead of having a blade that's around 43mm like most of these little ones, have a blade that's 70mm. There's even some that have blades that are 100mm, AND, these are all cordless rotary cutters! The cost between like, $120-$170, but if you are someone who needs to use a rotary cutter a lot I think it would be totally worth the investment. I haven't gotten one myself yet, but I plan to when I can.Oh yeah, and one more thing about this Black+Decker rotary cutter. While it's charging you will most likely want to charge it in another room. Because the whole time that it's charging the green lights on the back blink and they are quite bright.
