Great for a beginner to build skill
I bought this racket to compete in a casual work league.. compared to the house rackets (cheap stigas and some beat up no-name paddles) it's a totally different beast. The first thing you notice when you pick it ip is thay It's a bit heavier than a typical paddle, giving the pleasant sense of heft and solidity one might expect from a British product :)This extra weight and the soft, thick rubber must be what gives the paddle its exceptional springiness-- a simple bounce test demonstrates that the ball travels almost twice as high off the Eastfield racket compared to the no name. The rubber is quite sticky, which really helps you feel the ball. Since I got this racket a few months ago, I've developed some powerful spin shots, thanks in large part to my Eastfield. In fact the new racket has been so popular in the league that I bought a second one for personal use.It does have a small sweet spot, but this is a feature not a bug-- the idea being to build discipline and accuracy: the paddle makes a distinctly different sound when you miss the sweet spot, and makes other rackets feel very forgiving. I assume this is related to the all-wood construction. This has helped my game further, forcing me to really find the right shot for a given situation.I am totally satisfied with this racket, and will continue to use it until my skill has increased to the point where a super high tech racket is beneficial (probably years from now).I would recommend the case as well-- it's high quality, and a good investment since the racket's soft rubber is very susceptible to damage. Also, it's rectangular rather than paddle shaped-- which is important, as the zipper on a paddle shaped case can abrade the racket's rubber.

Several years ago, I have used my friend's Timo Boll and Schlager blade with Tenergy 05 rubber, they are very nice paddles but way too expensive for my taste as I'm just an amateur player. He has moved so I don't have the luxury to use his paddle anymore. There are so many choice of paddles to choose and it took me a few weeks to make the decision on Eastfield. The weight and handle size fits in my small hand perfectly, the rubber is very responsive with lots of control. I'm so glad I made the right decision, it's a best bang for the buck!

Great beginner paddle!
This was bought as a beginner paddle for my wife and she loves it. She has great control and feel for the ball. Also the rubber is tacky enough for things like looping backspins. It's exactly what she wanted. Great beginner paddle.

Good paddle with a bit of a learning curve.
A solid paddle once you get used to the rubbers. May have been a little advanced for my game but I’m liking it better as time goes on.

Great Racket…Until it Broke After 4 Months!
Agree with all the positive aspects noted by others. It’s a great racket for beginners, and helps you learn control and spin. It feels good in hand, as well. But I’m not spending $65 three times a year. The racket received normal use and was maintained well, but for whatever reason just didn’t last. The rackets that came in my generic set I’ve had for years still haven’t broken! I expected better product quality for the price.

This will improve your spin game as well attack
Where can I start with this? It is been more than 6 months since I bought this, and my journey together has always been the better than yesterday ever since. As most folks, I bought this for my workplace ping pong table. I was using the default ones provided that was taking my game nowhere. Then I bought this guy upon the suggestion from online website. The thick layer of rubber provided just the amount of spin to take my chop game further. But it also helped me elevate my top spin game to another level. I was more of a defensive player before. But, after having this I was able to move into attacking position. Slowly my improvement with this paddle was also observed by other players and they too started to take notice of this paddle and quite astonished with a pretty unfamiliar name. That still chuckles me sometimes when I think of it. If you are just beginning, then do not buy this. But if you have learnt basics of ping pong and want to further your game with a perfectly balanced paddle then this if for you.

Very well balanced bat.
I have never owned a high quality bat before and decided to do so since I have recently bought a table tennis robot (Power Pong 5000) and want to seriously improve my game. The Eastfield is excellent. It feels good in my hand, appears to be well made and makes a very pleasant sound when one hits the sweet spot. I feel I have more control than before and recommend it for beginners and former players wanting to have fun and improve their game..

Received without any rubber
I received the racket with no rubber (seems I'm not the only one based on the reviews). I was really excited to try things out and am really bummed out that it came without rubber... The pictures and description advertise the rubber so I don't know how this happened.
