Love it
If you have a child who is suddenly curious about all the different changes going on in their bodies… or they want to know what happens to their bodies as they grow and get sick this is for you. Got this on a prime day deal and everyday we have read a different section. My little one has stopped asking if all her body parts are going to fall off after she gets hurt now.

My 8-year-old daughter is fascinated
I bought this for my 8-year-old daughter. She asked for a book about science and seemed interested in learning more about how people inherit traits from their parents, based on the science chapter they’re doing in school. I definitely wanted to encourage that because I know women and girls are underrepresented in the sciences, and I want to make sure she understands that science is not a “boy subject,” which I felt like was the way it was presented when I was growing up.Anyway, we got the book in today and she read about 10 pages in one sitting. I had to sit with her and help with new vocabulary, like “chromosomes” and “cytoplasm,” which was fun because she was able to share her discoveries with me about anatomy and physiology that she learned in the text. I shared her excitement at how cool the human body is and how complex we are as organisms. The book held her attention and shared information with her in what I felt was a developmentally-appropriate way. The Amazon listing said it is geared toward ages 7-10, and I would say that is spot-on. It was informational without being overwhelming. And so far, she’s fascinated and she loves it.(In case anyone is wondering, the pages on human reproduction don’t go deeply into detail about how sperm get into the mother or how the sperm and egg meet, but sperm and eggs themselves are discussed.)

Great book to teach children about our body
I absolutely love this book. I bought it for my 4 year old son who is very curious and asks a lot about how many parts of our body work. He is small now but the book is very dynamic and keeps his attention. I am sure we will be reading it for years.

Good general introduction on how our bodies work
Really good book for 8 year olds to learn how the body works, with detailed pictures and easy to read. My daughter loves it as her first introduction into this subject. It doesn't go into enough details for me on how children grow, puberty and sex, so may suit a younger child, I will now need to get the next age up book. It does cover, eggs, sperm, womb and where a baby grows and how it grows. If you are after a book on puberty and growing then this maybe won't cover enough detail but its great for everything else and a really good introduction into what is going on inside our bodies.
