Life Extension MacuGuard Ocular Support with Saffron & Astaxanthin, 60 Softgels

I live with a family including quite a few scientists and STEM academic-skeptics, and will admit to being a major skeptic of our 24-7 commercial and marketing culture myself - especially the marketing of Big Pharma and OTC medicines. Still I do take certain vitamin supplements, and having had a few visual issues since entering my 60's, I first used MacuGuard, though now I am taking MacuGuard with Astaxanthin. I appreciated reading the reviews of MacuGuard users before I began taking it about 6 months ago, so I will now self-report (even though I'm aware of the anecdotal rather than scientific nature of reviews).My personal eye problems were with mild dry eyes owing to rosacea, seeing some light flashing in the corners of my vision when rising in darkness at night, and most annoying, burning and tearing of my eyes when doing close or detail work, such as while reading small print or typing into my tiny phone for texting and reading texts. The burning and tearing was happening at least three or four times a week, occasionally more than once a day. After taking MacuGuard once a day for about three weeks, the light flashing at night began to cease (now virtually non-existent), and most significantly, the burning and tearing of my eyes reduced to happening occasionally, no longer regularly - perhaps one time every week or two. After I did have one week where the tearing happened a couple of times (still a major reduction from pre-MacuGuard use), I decided to switch to MacuGuard with Astaxanthin and the symptoms ceased, only occurring now perhaps once or twice every few weeks. That's an enormous improvement! It is also my impression that I can now read small print better as well, 'better' being defined as 'now I can read small print better when NOT using OTC reading glasses, and now I can read small print perfectly using reading glasses with less strong magnification'. I'll definitely continue to take MacuGuard with Astaxanthin, because of these very practical and functional results.

Absolutely marvelous product! I combined it with daily Communion and my confidence in the what Jesus did for me on Calvary and I had marvelous improvement in my eyes starting after the first week, and following a recent previous annual eye exam by my optometrist which was a total disaster. My eyes are now doing great....perfect distance vision driving, no reading problems. For me at least, it was an nothing short of miraculous. These pills....combined with faith... really worked good for me.

This product is amazing. A friend of mine had macular degeneration in one of his eyes. After taking this product for year and a half, the large black area in the center of his eye shrunk to just a dot. He said the improvement in his eye is miraculous and he believes the dot will soon disappear. A family member was contemplating operation for dry eyes and Immediately after taking this product she no longer has dry eyes.

I've been using LifeExtension for some time now, and I tried other brands, but always reverted back to Life Extension. I can't give you a definitive answer why, except that I could tell other brands didn't help my vision. Perhaps it’s because MacuGuard's formula keeps evolving and they are constantly making improvements/additions to the formula. The important elements are Zeaxanthin and Lutein.In addition, since our family has a history of cataracts and glaucoma, I take 200 MG of Chromium Picolinate with the MacuGuard. I got this info from a study done on people who had glaucoma and they found that one thing they had in common was insufficient chromium. They recommended at least 200 mg. of chromium. For the cataracts, I simply stay out of the sun and wear sunglasses -- even in the winter. Due to my lack of sun exposure, I have to take 2500 IU of Vitamin D3. MacuGuard would rate 5 stars if I can do without my glasses!

Didnt think this would work. But two months on don't need glasses to read the computer screen! Went from needing 2.5+ reading glasses to no reading glasses. Use binos no problem, rifle scope no problem. NO MORE GLASSES. This is a god send. How could doctors not tell their patients about this. Told my friends and they're buying it to help with theiir eye problems. Good stuff.
