Self-Important Twaddle
I very rarely review books, but this one stood out in its uselessness. I speak three European languages already, but I was having some trouble with Korean due to an unfamiliar grammar structure. I figured $1 was a worthwhile gamble in the hopes that I would start to recognize more content in the shows I was already watching. It would honestly have been more productive to toss a dollar into a river. Not only did the rhetoric of the book drive me up the wall (the author is VERY full of himself and loves how special he is) but it was poorly written. He describes habits as "deeply engraved" when he means "deeply ingrained" etc, and loves using a page when a sentence would do.A charitable description of the book is a collection of study tips, but there are better tips on the internet for free, and you don't have to sit through pages on pages of this man's ego. The book (which I did, in fact, read in its entirety, bc I am a stubborn person) only engages with kdrama/kpop culture by encouraging you to a.) sing kpop and b.) turn off subtitles on kdramas. It is also strongly implied that watching kdramas can only instill bad habits and you should stop. I don't have any problems with the basic philosophy, but look at the title of the book. The marketing is.... misleading. Kdramas and Kpop take up about 1% of this monstrous overblown book. The rest of the book deals with methods of creating audio flashcards, referring the reader to other, pre-existing sources, and decrying people who can learn out of books, WHILE recommending that you complete Korean textbooks. (None are named. Just. Korean textbooks in general.) If creating audio flashcards was actually the thing you really secretly wanted to do, hop on board, I guess.Special note: After filling 64% of the book with empty rhetoric, pompous anecdotes, and vague promises that PART TWO WILL DESCRIBE MY METHOD I PROMISE, the author does two magical things.A.) He finishes part one by saying "May K-Pop and K-Drama fans do not have the focus and patience to even make it this far, but that is not the case for you." Since I'm not 16, negging other fans to make me feel special is a stupid and irritating tactic. And with 20/20 hindsight, I'd conclude that the people who didn't waste their time on part 2 are way smarter than me.b.) He starts part two with "If you choose to skip over the second half of this book, you will have no weapon to fight mankind's greatest enemy, bad memory. You will be doomed to a frustrating hell plagued by constant forgetfulness. Your efforts to learn will be like filling a swimming pool that is ever slowly leaking. After a hard day of learning, you will wake up the next morning to find your pool of knowledge at 8 feet deep even thought you are fairly sure it was 9 feet deep yesterday. It will case you great pain when you realize that you started at 7.5 feet yesterday morning." Ugggggh. Not only is it an ineffectively vague metaphor based on a hypothetical reader, but it gives you an idea of the insufferably smug tone. He's not the savior of language learning, he's just a guy who failed to learn Korean while living in Korea, and wants to convince himself that the responsibility lies with those dastardly textbooks.I encourage you to save your dollar. Or to feed your dollar to a goat. Just don't give it to this guy.

Waist
Sorry, but a waist of my money. Basically just gave the same advice that you get free off the internet. And the app they suggest you use to study from is not free, it’s $24,99.. disappointed.

High hopes but no payoff
I thought this would be a great source to learn Korean since I love kpop and started watching kdramas, however this was a bit disappointing. The first part of the book is a long introduction on how actively listening to kpop and kdrama with his method would help learners. The second part is the break down of how his method works.Honestly, I couldn't get through the book. I read about creating audio flash cards through a very drawn out process that I found hard to follow. I did come away with a few good suggestions such watching a show without subtitles for 20 mins and taking a sentence you're interested in to breakdown or downloading lyrics to breakdown bit by bit. This book seemed like a.good idea but a better explanation and breakdown of his methods would have been helpful.

Learn Korean in a Fun, Immersive Way
I have just finished *The Immersion Method* by the same author, and I was curious to see what his language-specific books would be like. If you've read *The Immersion Method*, much of the information in this book will be quite familiar to you. But the author has given a fair amount of Korean specific-information to help you learn that language. For instance, he gives several websites that are specific to learning Korean, and of course, all of the examples are in Korean. For those who haven't read *The Immersion Method*, let me give you a little background. Basically in this book and that one, the author shares his own personal method for learning a foreign language in a fun way. Yes, for Korean, you do have to learn different symbols than we're accustomed to, and you need to get some basics down from a textbook of sorts. But after that, the author really stresses that you should make your language learning fun by essentially studying the things that interest you. Like Korean music or movies? Use that to enhance and encourage your learning. More of a reader? That works, too. Have a particular interest or hobby? Learn about how they do it in Korea. I do find this author’s immersion method to be a fascinating one, and will be trying it out for myself.I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

No Korean words, just his proud story in English
The worst Korean study book I have ever had.. the writer is too much proud of himself and you will only read his story in English.. you will find only around 15 Korean words in the whole book that are offensive words as “jerk, trash“ etc which will be the only Korean words that you can find in this whole book.. what a waste of money.. never buy this book..

not woth the money
as said in the title it promised to be fun and easy. sadly I have to say that it's a lot more complicated than I thought.there's a lot of text and I don't really know how to use it. I thought it would be more like a few sentences that are often used in kdramas with a meaning but its more like reading a book on how u can do that from kdramas. not worth the money in my opinion. if I wanted to know how I can learn from kpop I would've just looked it up. I'm sure there are a lot of websites who explain it better.
