Chef Craft Select Utility Knife 5 inch blade 8.5 inches in length, Stainless Steel/Black

This knife was purchased for short term use. It felt reasonably sharp for about the first two uses and did what it needed to do for the 20 days it was needed. I would buy it again as a pinch hitter when traveling. I would not buy it as something to rely on in my kitchen.

Maybe I expected too much for a few dollars. I bought this knife to slice up my dog’s refrigerated Freshpet dog food. It was important to get one that could go in the dishwasher because I’m obsessive. It’s not very sharp and has some trouble to cut through the plastic sleeve unless I stab it first. Now after just a few months, when I press down to cut the food I can feel the metal portion of the blade that is Inside the handle pressing out into my hand. I think this must mean that the plastic handle material has softened and is allowing the metal to shift around. Gonna go find something better.
