Comforting, Calming, and Fun to Connect
I have no explanation for why these things work, but I'm happy I got them and used them for the kids. I took them out of the box and out of the plastic wrap. As you first use these, a few of them shed...like a newly cut piece of carpet. As time goes on, there's less shedding. I let each kid who wanted to use one pick one and keep it until they were done or ready to eat. These would not be "easy" to clean, but likely can be spot-washed with spray or soapy water. The kids enjoyed petting the square back and forth. The brown one allows users to write a visible shape. They all connect so it's like a pop into place, when you attach and the physical feel of disconnecting the pieces is something the kids like too. The back isn't shown in my pictures, but it's a bumpy white rubber and the kids like to brush their hands back and forth over this side too. They lean it against their laptops and seem to zone out and do their work a little bit better.

An incredibly cool idea, my daughter with autism loves these tiles!
I've never seen anything else like these textured floor tiles! I've seen lots of the regular foam floor tiles, and I like them, but this takes the idea to a whole new level! My daughter is 18 and severely autistic. She is quite sensory seeking---she loves to feel different textures. She also has often resisted a rug near her bed, and likes her bed low to the ground, so these have been the perfect solution. I put them all in a line next to her bed, and she can just reach over and touch them, and when she gets up, feel them on her feet. I've noticed her walking back and forth along them to get the texture variety. These are so easy to use---it took literally two minutes to put them down and connect the puzzle-like edges. They could be arranged in so many ways. The backs of the tiles seem to grip the floor, so there is very little slipping.I'm going to be on the lookout to see if there's more sets of these. I'd love to make a whole multi-textured floor for my daughter!

Took awhile to arrive but they’re perfect!
I didn’t want to take these out of the packaging yet because I’m waiting until Christmas to give these to my nephew. But these are absolutely perfect! My nephew has autism and is huge on textures so I just know he’s going to love these sensory tiles. They look exactly as pictured and the size of them is perfect. They’re big enough for him to notice and give him some room to play with them, but they’re not too big where they’re going to take up a ton of space in his room. They did take quite awhile to arrive, but other than that, these are great and I definitely recommend them!

Great sensory/calming mats
My wife works with special education students and have found these interlocking calming mats very helpful in the classroom. There are 6 different mats that come in the pack, each with a different texture. They are interlocking so you can use each texture individually or interlock them in any way you want for any situation (depending on the need or how much space you have). It does feel like these are a little overpriced though for their size (which is why it's only 4 stars), but for how well they work it could probably be overlooked.Overall, we are very happy with the purchase.
