It's good, it's nice, it works.
I ordered this to power my 220 volt German mini-component hi-fi, which requires a constant 220 watts (minimum) or so, and is powered by two outlets. I was interested in the Seyas 500W because it has two international outlets, obviating the need for a power strip, at least for the foreseeable future. The 500 watt rating seemed safe for my application, and given the good reviews (and yes, I thought it was interesting that this item bore a patent) I decided to order it.Well, what do I think? First, the item has updated branding that isn't depicted here. It's similar, but the logo has been refreshed, and it all looks nicer. This is really to say that I was surprised a bit by the presentation of the packaging... which is to say that it's professional and thus completely ordinary. So far, so good! The item itself appears to be well constructed, with metal appearing to be used for all of its faces. The feel and action of all moving parts is good. The power cable is thick and sturdy to the eye. Everything about the item's physical appearance suggests a level of quality one is likely to expect, which is good to the point of being invisible, and that is how it should be I think. The international sockets do fit my German plugs loosely, as others have commented. They stay in fine on their own, but they are loose to the point of what I would consider "breakaway," i.e. they are designed to release the plug freely from the socket in the event of a snag. If you have a cat, and your cat thinks this new object is interesting, your cat brushing against the inserted plugs is enough to loosen them to the point of interrupting the power; very touchy! With my converter placed under my desk, back near the wall, I found that bumping it with a stray outstretched foot is also enough to potentially loosen a plug to the point of power interruption... not conducive to jamming to the tunes, or transferring electricity for that matter! My solution for this is to turn the converter so it is facing away from me. It makes the sockets hard to access (should I need to access them,) but that is the only resolution that I feel doesn't compromise the safe operation of the product. Are all outlets of this nature this loose with German-type plugs? I dunno. Because I don't know, I will give Seyas the benefit of the doubt until I discover otherwise.A lot of people have commented on how coolly the item runs. The item can warm very slightly with prolonged use, which seems normal. While a lot of electronics are designed to run hotter than many people are comfortable with, this is not one of them. You may not even know that it was on at all if you only relied on your perception of temperature to tell you if it were.As far as the actual power, well... a few weeks in and it all seems healthy. My devices are happy, they work!! Mission complete! And, I *would* purchase an additional converter by the same company if the need arose.

Everything works as advertised
I bought this for a new well pump set-up that includes a 240V, 3/4 hp pump and a digital water softener timer head that uses 120V. I only had a 240V line available for the pump shed so I ran the line to a regular 2 outlet plug inside the shed. The pigtail from the pump plugs right into the outlet, getting 240V to run, and I then plugged this unit into the other plug to convert to 120V. This unit has 2-120V outlet plugs available and I run the water softener out of one and have the 2nd available for a light to add heat to the shed space during cold snaps here in Florida. I found that the circuit breaker works when I plugged a 2000 psi electric power washer into it to clean my siding. This unit handled the constant drain for over an hour before popping and reset just fine with10 minutes rest. I can highly recommend this and the price was fine.Update: 3 years of use and still works perfectly.

Automatic voltage selection and device runs pretty cool. However, outlet could use a little more gripping force.
Upon plugging in and turning on, I see the protection light comes on and a series of relays clicking on and off. I am guessing it's shifting power where it needs to be based on the input voltages being supplied. It sounds pretty intelligent like it knows what's going on. After second or two everything calms down and the green power light remains lit.I am using this to power my Xiaomi Laser Projector. Decided to give this unit a burn in yesterday, had the unit hooked up to my projector and I had my projector running for about two hours. Upon touching the unit I was expecting to feel some type of residual heat but to my surprise the unit was incredibly cool! I've read some reviews about the outlets getting loose over time, I can honestly say that my outlet seems to exhibit that issue. It's not loose in the sense that the outlet itself is going to fall out, it's loose in the sense that the outlet itself doesn't seem to grip the projector plug I have inserted into the unit snugly. I am curious if this is a design issue since it's a universal type of outlet that has to maintain compatibility with multiple types of international plugs. If I were to experience any type of issue with plugs falling out, I might improvise a solution to keep this from happening, so far my projector stayed plugged in just fine, I didn't experience any issue when tugging lightly on the plug but if I were to compare it to my normal household outlet, I would say the holding force of this unit would range at about 15-20% compared to the force to pull a plug out of my outlet at home. Again though, as it stands so far, I am quite pleased with the unit and my projector seems to be as well! I am looking forward to movie nights!

Does its job well without noise. Quite bulcky.
The item works as described. It’s actually great as it emits no noises which was my fear at first considering its size. There is no lag no wait time. You switch it on, the protection red light goes off in a split second and you’ve got yourself a converter that does its job without even a hum. It’s got 2 outlets each for step up and step down. I didn’t need an adapter, my Italian plug went straight into the outlet. The only down side? It’s bulcky. It takes a good amount of space on the counter where I have it. I am also not a fan of where the outlets are located. I might post some pictures later and will update this review at the one month mark and 3 months mark.
