Push the stem into the air conditioning valve and gently rotate the tail knob of the remover. Find the angle to connect the valve core, and then loosen it. 3.When the valve core is removed, pull out the stem, close the valve on the valve remover, loosen the screw at the end of the tool and take out the valve core. Worked on my mini-split *by S***R on 4 December 2025* I don't know if I really needed this when servicing my mini-split or if I could've just lived with the valve core installed, but it seemed like it would be a good idea to have that option, and this tool wasn't very expensive at $18. It is a much better deal at about 1/4 the price of the name-brand version everyone recommends. Installation and usage was pretty straightforward. The seals all worked well and held. It was able to remove the valve core, though I did have to unscrew the heatpump from the pad and jack it up a bit to have room to pull the plunger out. The shutoff valve worked without leaking. The spare caps came in handy for my gauge set. The valve core went back in easily too.
