ANOTHER GEM FROM A FAVORITE AUTHOR I COULD READ AGAIN AND AGAIN!
There's nothing like an Emma Hart book. She writes stories that take me to my happy place. It's as if I'm being enveloped in a fluffy cloud or being treated to a decadent piece of dark chocolate cake. The tales she weaves are always solid, the writing fluid and seamless, the characters completely lovable and addictive. Dirty Secret was no different. It was thoroughly enjoyable, keeping me engaged and enticed from the first to the last page. A one sitting, devour it read.Sophie Callahan has a secret. A deep, dark but achingly sweet secret. Two and a half years ago, she left town, leaving behind the love of her life and all she’s ever known. But as things go, seasons pass, and life moves on. With her father's recent passing, Sophie makes a hard choice, deciding to come back home with her precious secret in tow.Connor Burke, a rock star heartthrob, is loved by the masses. With Dirty B's current tour over, he's ready to get back home and take a much needed break. But home is where heartbreak and yearning reside. It's where memories, both beautiful and hauntingly painful, plague his thoughts. Two and a half years ago the girl of his dreams up and vanished, without a word or explanation. And each day since has been agonizing, questions filtering through his mind like bombs in a war zone. What went wrong? Where did she go? Why did she run?Sophie knows that Dirty B—Connors band—will back in town soon. She knows that they always head home for a 3 month stretch. She also realizes she's not going to be able to avoid and hide for much longer. And as hard as that reality is, she feels it’s finally time to take responsibility for her actions and pay the piper so to speak. When Connor and Sophie finally see each other, emotions run wild and hurt blazes like an uncontrolled forest fire. The pain of the past rears its ugly head and wounds, not healed over, ooze fresh with a hearty dose of betrayal, guilt and shame. Only now, it's no longer about them. Now, there’s something much more important to take care of. They have to learn to face a future where they must work together. They say forgiveness is the only was a shattered heart can be healed. But what if that heart is filled with anguish and deceit, a life that could have been stolen without your permission? What if the very person you loved, the one you gave everything to, has done something so inconceivable it maybe unforgivable?Connor must learn what it means to let go and truly forgive and Sophie has to embrace the fears that had her running scared and make amends for the hurt she left behind. After all life’s too short to let the one who got away slip through your fingers a second time. One again, Emma always impresses me. Her stories are told from the heart, the emotion behind her words a true reflection of what her characters are experiencing.I loved every minute of this book. I love the angst which wasn't over done but perfectly realistic. I loved the dialogue, the pacing and the rawness of pain that was sprinkled throughout the pages. I loved the push and pull, the back and forth, between Connor and Sophie. I loved the way Connor embraced his new life. The one he had no that idea existed. I loved the way his relationship with Sophie progressed. I loved the sizzle that that we were given, the emotional connection that the characters needed.I really just LOVED the whole book.So if you're looking for something quick, well written, filled with emotion, angst and steam then this is a winner. It was an AWESOME read and I can't wait to get a little more of the Burke brothers. After all you not only meet Connor and Sophie but the other members of Dirty B who are hilarious, sexy and very intriguing.

Couldn't put it down!
Hot RockStar Brothers? Check! Secrets and lies? Check! Steamy tension filled read? Check! Dirty Secret by Emma Hart has it all!We meet Sofie as she comes home after being gone for two and a half years. She ran after becoming pregnant, and now that her father is gone, she is back to settle affairs. She was hoping to get in and out without running into Connor and any of his family. She wants those secrets and the past to stay exactly where they are, in the past. Her first day back she runs into her best friend, who is also Connor's sister, and suspicion and questions start. Sofie wasn't expecting for Connor to be back, or to even know she was there, nor did she expect for him to still care for her.Their first meeting didn't go well, and then when all the secrets and lies come out in the open, everything blows up. These two are still so much in love with each other, but are unable to get past what happened two and a half years ago, to see if there is still anything left for them. I loved how Sofie made it clear that Mila was always the number one priority, and nothing else matters. The love she has for her daughter is beautiful and you can tell how much she truly loves her.I loved watching these two characters struggle with the past, and coming to terms with everything that happened. Just when you think "YAY, They are going to figure it out", one of them does something stupid and takes them a few steps back (usually Connor). My heart broke for Connor and Sofie in this book. They were young, Sofie made a huge mistake, but the love they have is still there, and they both are super in love with their daughter.Connor could be a huge jerk sometimes during this book, but I understand why he behaved the way he did. He has a daughter he had no clue about, and the love of his life is back in town, but sometimes, I just wanted to strangle him for how he dealt with things. You can tell immediately once Connor realizes that Mila is his, how much he truly cares for her. I loved watching him figure things out with her, and when he would sing for her, or play in the sand box. He was made to be a dad!Figuring out being parents to Mila was easy for these two, figuring out how to be in the same room together without screaming, or ripping each others clothes off was a different story. The chemistry between these two characters is HOT and just oozes off of your kindle. I felt the pain that these characters were going through, and the love they had for one another. When you feel the emotional turmoil the characters are going through, you know it's an amazing book!Dirty Secret will have you laughing, crying, and shaking because you're so mad. You'll fall in love with Connor, Mila, and Sofie, and their story, and you'll finish the book with a smile on your face. I can't wait to read the other brother's stories, and will be impatiently waiting for the books to release. The Burke's are a hilarious group of brothers and each one of the characters brings something amazing to this series.

4 Conner and Sofie Stars
I thought this was a promising start to the series. Conner and the other Burke Brothers are the Dirty B band. They are the hottest act on the music scene with hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide. I guess it's equal to One D. Except they're brothers. And American. Huh. Anyway.....So, before worldwide fame and fortune found Conner Burke , a pretty local girl did. Before the heady days of recording, touring and concerts , back when he was just a boy , he fell in love with his childhood friend and neighbour. Sofie loved him too. They both knew that the Band were destined for great things. Then Sofie left him. No reason given. No word for over 2 years. Then Conner returns home for a tour break to discover Sofie is back. With his daughter, Mila, who he knew nothing about. Tricky.I loved the family dynamics in this book. I enjoyed the banter and all the cuteness that was Mila.So why not five stars? For me Emma was difficult to warm to. SPOILERS AHEAD.....I thought what she did was pretty awful. She kept her pregnancy and their child a secret for two and a half years because she didn't want him to give up/ lose out on the imminent fame and fortune. Also, she couldn't bear the thought of losing him to some groupie. I thought the reasons would be deeper than that. It just felt too superficial for such a major decision.HEA? More of a HFN I would say.Cheating? NoI'm looking forward to more in this series.

Emma has done it again! *****
Emma Hart never ceases to amaze and astound me. The emotions that Dirty Secret evoked from me haven't dissipated or faded. From start to finish, I experienced the full range. Sad, happy, angry, upset, amused, hot under the collar, the lot!I instantly felt a connection to Sofie and I empathised with her situation. She did what she thought was the right thing. But my God, I wanted to shake her at the same time. "What were you thinking woman? How perfect is Conner?" Yes, they fight, they both have such strong personalities but we allllll know what follows a heated argument, right? These two did not disappoint. *hot flush*Conner Burke. He is one handsome devil who seems to dislike clothes. And I have no problem with that! He is a talented musician, a driven man and the ideal partner. He's also the perfect father. His reaction to Mila was expected - shock. Despair. Anger towards Sofie. But once he overcame it, he totally came through for his daughter who - and fair play here to Sofie for teaching Mila - knew exactly who her Daddy was. And my ovaries burst and my heart swelled whenever Mila was included in a scene. Best. Child. In. A. Book. Ever. I want a Mila! Adorable. So, Dirty Secret. Yes, Mila was that "Dirty" Secret but for the right reasons. Not that she stayed a secret for long. Damn gossips and paparazzi. But it turned out well for them! Sofie was torn the whole way through. Stay away from Conner and allow him to hate her as she believes he should not allow herself to love and be loved.Conner knew he should be angry. He is angry. But other feelings override the anger and heartache. These are things he never thought he'd feel again.Now. The Burke boys. HOT DAYUM! Tate, Kye, Aidan and Conner. Four Southern musically talented boys men, going to be four awesome books! The banter, the relationships, the one night stands, the bad boy, the "oh-my-God-weak-knees"! I can't wait for every word, page, chapter and story about these Burke boys!My favourite character, though. She needs a special mention. Mila. Such a hoot! I fell in love with her and she's not even mine! I wish she was though! She completely wrapped everyone around her little finger, even big bad Uncle "Tay"!5 stars and a whole galaxy more!

The Sexy Burke Brothers!
Reading Dirty Secret just reinforced how much I love Emma Hart's work and the swoon worthy men she writes about. From the first few pages I was hooked and intrigued to see if Sofie Callahan would stay and make Shelton Bay her home again. A place that held happy childhood memories and also regret over Conner Burke the man she loved and left behind with not even a goodbye. This book was such a joy to read as it delivered so many raw emotions, feelings of regret, loss, heartache, insecurities, self-hate, courage, trust, forgiveness, love, passion and second chances whilst the banter and dialogue between the Burke siblings balanced the storyline and kept me in stitches. I loved seeing the real Sofie come out through Conner's persistence and kindness that she still existed, she was tough, cheeky and held her own against Conner and his family. The attraction and undeniable love between Sofie and Conner just sparked the pages in sexual tension and heat. I loved reading Connors pov because it made me really connect to his emotions, the love he felt for Sofie was so strong as he fought through the hurt, anger and pain she inflicted on him and his cockiness and swagger was sexy as hell! I loved Tate, Kye and Aidan and can't wait to read their stories and hope Leila gets one too. I gave this a four star and not five because I felt the story could have ended earlier if not with all the back and forth between Sofie and Conner. I would re-read this again because Emma Hart knows how to write sexy leading men who hit the book boyfriend shelf!

I fell head over heels for Connor and his lickable abs
Emma Hart has done it again. Now bear in mind I was slow to join the Dirty B Diva's, but forgive me because I fell in love with Emma's writing from the Holly Woods Files series, and with her latest release of DLR I decided to start this series from the start, and what a freaking ride.I fell head over heels for Connor and his lickable abs *insert childish snigger here*, I couldn't help but fall down in love with Mila, and Sofie is one of the realist heroines I've ever read. All I can really say is thank you. Thank you for bringing these people to life, and sharing them in such an amazing way.I'm off for another round of Dirty B fangirling.

Please may I have Conner?
Dirty Secret is the first in the series of The Burke Brothers, and boy has Emma done good? She's done fabulously, as always.I loved both Sofia and Conner's character, even though Sofia did frustrate me sometimes but I think I loved Mila the most! The story had flow and it kept me turning the pages until I finished it this afternoon! If the writing and story keeps you hooked, then that's what you call a good romance book.Only downside for me? I wish the story was a bit longer, personally thought it was cut short at the end for my liking. I also would have liked to have heard more from Aiden, like we did with Tate, Kye and Leilah but we can't have everything!Overall 5 stars from me, definitely worth buying if you've never read Emma's books before, and if you have read her other series why haven't you bought this book already? Loved the Burke clan and cannot wait to read the rest of their books.
