Such a wonderful game, I rushed to buy a physical copy!
I love this game! I played it as a digital copy not expecting much, but ended up falling in love with it so much that I bought the physical copy. Sure it has some flaws with the heavy dialogue, and I do wish it was longer and or gave the player more time to just explore and rest, but this game is seriously a love letter to RPGs. You can see heavy Earthbound influences throughout the game, which delights me as a huge Earthbound fan. The art, music, and personality of the characters is so lovely. The levels in the game get a bit trickier as you go on, and requires some figuring out, but it’s not impossible. They’re similar to Legend Of Zelda dungeons, but our main duo have to work together one by one to solve them, which makes it fun.Forewarning: The game can get frustrating with crashes, so beware and save often. I believe this is just something that needs updating and fixing by Nintendo, because this is not the only game Ive played where this happened. The crashes are not the fault of the physical game at all, as Ive had crashes with the digital game as well. Ive found that if you leave your game idle instead of saving, exiting, and rebooting, it will be more likely to crash. So definitely save and then exit and come back if you’re busy.Overall a great game that I highly highly recommend playing. The reviewer that gave it the lowest of stars did not understand the heart and love that went into this game. Instead of trying to read the dialogue and understand the characters, they mashed through. There is a lot of dialogue, but do try to see the direction the creators were going in. Its truly worth it to understand the characters personalities and motivations. Great game, try it!! Perfect for your collection! :)

Whole Family Loves This
It's kind of rare for everyone in my family to like a game (some like fighting, RPG's, shooters), but we all play this, even my wife likes to play it and she barely plays video games at all! The story is just great, and the characters are fun. We all love the art style, it's unique and beautiful. This is a great throwback to Legend of Zelda. I like how the levels get harder the more you progress, it keeps it interesting. The only things my kids don't like about this game, is sometimes there is a lot of dialog BUT it's actually a helpful tool to help them with their reading comprehension (for my 5 and 6 yrs olds). The only thing I can complain about, is that the game feels a little short. I beat it pretty quickly; I just wish there was more for me to explore and do. I hope this helps anyone interested.

Really like gameplay
1st I'm missing just my left hand. This game is alot of fun, graphics are outstanding beware cause it does use GD in the words. Other that that this game is kool has a mini game you can play which is different old school type Zelda best I can explain. You can cook in this the villains in the game are somewhat easy but not takes a few times to get the hang of it.Might have to tube search a few things to figure some things out. Over all one one the better games I like & I don't say that often at all. Does show bullying in it, but it corrects itself & showing the player that it's wrong. 30hrs spent playing so far able to save in multiple check points up to a certain level.

Masterpiece from start to finish
John and Sam might be my favorite videogame duo EVER. In my opinion they're on par with Joel and Ellie from TLOU franchise. The story is incredible, and while it is very dialogue heavy, I would recommend not rush through that part of the game because it's very important to understand what's going on, infact I actually enjoyed that aspect of the game. The NPC's are actually fun to interact with, every single one has their own unique personality, and you'll never run into another NPC that's the same to a previous one. Excellent writing all around. The music is also incredible, can't get enough of Ester City's theme. It's a little too easy early on but it picks up at a steady pace. Highly, highly recommend, if you're on the fence just buy it, and play this masterpiece for yourself. It took me about 23 hours to beat it, which is good length for a 20 dollar game imo.

We’re headed Eastward!
This game has so much charm in its world and the world building! It’s really cool that you can switch between the protagonist’s and the gameplay is varied with puzzle solving and some beat em up elements. The game really reminds me of Earthbound in a way and I love that game so much. I would highly recommend this game to anyone that just wants a fun story!

Beware - This Game Crashes a Lot!
Super story line, great throwback feel (think: mashup of Legend of Zelda, Chronotrigger and Secret of Mana), with some sporadic adult language/humor. As much as I'd like to give it top marks, the repeated crashing merits a warning about thIs serious drawback to gameplay. The autosave feature may prevent starting back at the last physical save point; but the crashing appears to be random and could occur at anytime. Such a shame for an otherwise brilliant game.

An underrated gem
One of my favorite all time indie games aside from Disco Elysium and The Binding of Isaac. Eastward captured both a nostalgic era of my 16 but childhood while improving the visuals is a new and beautiful way. Also one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard.

What a great game!
This game is so good! Cool retro graphics. Fun story and gameplay. The characters are great and funny. Combat is real-time like Zelda and you can upgrade your weapons. Sam, the young girl, has a fun childlike innocence about her where she finds everything amazing lol. Not sure why John is a silent protagonist. I don't care for the silent protagonist type, but he's alright. Anyways, love this game and I highly recommend it!
