Ants will infest your patch
Within 48 hours several ant colonies decided to make home inside of my patch repair... they even took it 10 ft away and made a new giant mound nearby with the ingredients of this bag.... Update: originally rated this 1 star but I kept watering it for 2 weeks every day. The patches almost completely filled in now with new grass to my surprise. It was only effective on the spots that I removed the dead grass from though. Cannot use it on top of dead grass, has to be fresh ground. But took the bare spot in my front lawn to 90% filled in 2-3 weeks. Taking my review from 1 to 5! Maybe the ants helped after all...

Bad seed/no seed?
I couldn't really tell if there was any seed in the mix... I put it in 3 spots in my yard and nothing has germinated, its been two weeks and nothing but weeds are growing where I spread it, no new sprouts at all. Waste of time and money.

I've Had Success and Failure With This
I'm a new home owner, so I know how authentic reviews are important for people trying to find the right product for their need. That being said, I have zero landscaping experience and much of this has been a lot of research and trial and error. I live in the Central Florida area and used the seeds in very sandy soil. A lot of the negative reviews mention having zero growth. In my experience, that is entirely dependent on you. When first planting, you HAVE to water religiously twice a day, if not more depending on how much direct sun your lawn has. I've had situations where I didn't water for the first day after putting down the seed and nothing grew at all. I strongly suggest getting an automatic timer and an impact sprinkler to make sure you don't forget. Not to sound like a broken record, but just to stress the point, IF YOU LET THE SOIL DRY OUT BEFORE THE GRASS GROWS BEYOND FIRST SPROUTING, YOU'RE GOING TO WASTE EVERYTHING. Once you get everything going, I'm pretty happy with the results. I mixed in closer lawn seeds with this to help with how "full" the lawn looks. The Bermuda has done very well with it and has started to spread into the bare areas, so even if you don't have a consistent growth pattern it'll fix itself in time. If you mix in the clover seed, the clovers will also crowd out weeds so it'll help with maintenance of the lawn. This has been a way better experience compared to the tall/fine fescue I originally tried and had to tear out.

Fast germination
This seed is great for what it's advertised as for the most part. I would give 5 stars if I understood the purpose of mixing chewings fescue in with bermuda. I used this seed multiple times to fill bare spots in my bermuda. Once the weather got consistently over 90ยฐ I never even saw the fescue germinate anyway which is fine because I bought this for the bermuda seed and this type of fescue is not likely to survive where bermuda would do well in the heat. I shared the cultivars because it's important to note that Sahara is really only a good choice for the south. I live in the southern transition zone so I probably won't be buying more of this, which is a shame because it seems to germinate faster than the other varieties bred for my zone. The package says southern sunny lawn so I can't blame Pennington because I don't live far enough south for this variety to be the best fit. This seed is also considerably cheaper than the cultivars bred for the transition zone and if you really just want to fill in bare spots it will work the data I found on Sahara indicates it is susceptible to winter kill and frost damage compared to other varieties like yukon or riviera.

Not a single seed sprouted.
I planted seeds and watered them every day, but not a single one sprouted. Iโll try again later in fall, but itโs a bummer. Also I used almost the whole jag for the two 3x3 ft spots. The jag has a lot of mulch so you basically getting just a little bit of seeds.

Pretty amazing product for the $--defininately recommend!
This product is fricken' amazing! You do have to keep it watered regularly (hard to remember sometimes), but even in spots where I have not got grass to grow for several years, I NOW HAVE GRASS! A little expensive, but it does work. I did have to reapply in some areas. Definitely "rough-up" soil before spreading to give it a better chance to permiate the ground.

Product did not work.
I would have put a zero if it was an option. Bought five bags, and did not see seeds. Product did not geminate after 4 weeks of daily watering. Wrote and email to Pennington customer service and all I got was so many questions, such as how much water per day, did I do a soil sample before, what was the soil temp, UPC off the bags (who keeps the bags for 4 weeks?), They asked so many questions just to wear me down and it work.
