Just right for what I needed
Over a period of years, I've purchased quite a few products from UTG, and I've never had any issues with anything they've sent me. I'm happy to see that they've started making some of their stuff in the USA. This item at QD riser is made in China, and I doubt that anyone here makes something like this. I may, or may not, use this for a red dot optic, which has a Torx head rail attach. I like to be able to take things off my rifle rail, if they aren't needed for what I'm using it for. For the time being, I mounted a Streamlight TRL 2 on it, and it fit perfectly! I don't always need that light, so when I don't, it comes right off with no tools. I like this product, and I like UTG, so I am most likely buying three more of these to mount varmint lights on, to mount on various rifles. Most of our property defense happens at night, with wild pigs, coyotes, and other mid size varmints, but if I'm taking one of those rifles to the range, it's nice to easily remove the varmint light. So, yes, I am pleased with this purchase, and would recommend UTG products to friends and family, and will continue to purchase UTG products myself.

Sturdy, simple, solid construction!
The spring action is a liiiiiiittle creaky/crunchy but a bit of oil and time will fix that. The lock is perfect and the adjustability was extremely easy with provided hardware. Solid clamping force with no discernable shift. Honestly, I don't know how I ever lived without a QD mount. I may buy 2 or 3 more as backups and for other accessories down the road! These don't cowitness with most red dot/iron combos (too low)... But they're QD. The whole point is you remove them if you don't need them. Duh.

You get what you pay for
Product is of course lower quality than an amd or other well known quality brand BUT for the price and reasonable value it fits the bill. The threads will strip easily if you over tighten the tension screw so my advice is snug fit is enough. Would I trust this to hold any of my expensive optics? NO would I be ok as a way to quick attach a bipod? YUP this is better suited to air soft over real world application...go with a reputable brand and understand 16 dollars is what you get. I think it's good for what I got it for

Bought a pair of these to provide QD for a scope with Nikon P-series two-piece mounts, which just slide over the rail. They fit perfectly for that purpose and seem very solid so far. It's worth noting though that QD stands for Quick Disconnect, not re-connect. I see a significant change in zero after removing and reinstalling the scope if all you do is to clamp the levers back down. I suppose this might be obvious to some, but I've found it better to back off the clamp screws when reinstalling the scope so that the mounts just hold the scope in place with the levers fully down, then re-torque the clamp screws evenly. Even then, plan on a few shots to re-zero your scope.

Best design for a quick release
I bought this riser over 8 years ago. Works like the day I bought it. Most quick disconnects use a roll pin that ends up failing after a few years of use. This one has a better design. I was browsing Amazon, looking to replace a quick release riser that failed, when I noticed this one I purchased previously. I was looking for one with more slots. I'd buy this one again if I need a 3-slot.

Amazing quality at a low price!
Excellent product at a very attractive price. I bought three. One mounts my Bushnell red dot sight, the other two mount my 4X scope. On my M-4 carbine, I needed to remove my front sight - no big deal, just a couple of minutes of work - so the red dot did not superimpose on the tip of the sight. This gives me a fast and perfect field of vision, with the "ears" of the front sight almost automatically drawing your eye to the red dot. It also now completely clears the view of the low mounted scope. Removal and replacement of either takes you back to a perfect zero. Just remember to pull the mount back in the slots as you lock it down. Easily mounted and adjusted right out of the packaging, in just a couple of minutes. With no effort to re-zero the scope after installing the lever mounts, my first group was just over an inch "off" at 100 yards. That is great precision.

Missing adjustment screw.
I would have given this five stars if it wasn't missing the set screw that adjust the clamping tension. Reading other reviews it seems to be somewhat common. If you receive one without the set screw and don't want to return it, the screw is a m5 set screw that is 4mm long. I have easy access to them, so I keep the one I received. That being said this is a nicely machined item that clamps down solid once you adjust the tension with that screw. The mount comes with an allen wrench and instructions for tension adjustment. The body and clamp bar are made from aluminum with a pressed in steel cross stud and aluminum cam lever. I like the design and light weight of it, and expect it will hold up well for light to medium duty use.
