This item is decent. They are not made to be comfortable, but they are tolerable once you get used to them. Thinking of not having these with me when I go into the snake infested landfill makes me uncomfortable. The seller was nice and this item is a must have if you're going into any area that has reptiles or other animals that might harm a person while they're working or simply out for a stroll.

I purchased these to do my weed trimming. I usually wear shorts and my tiny ankles get ding up from the debris and small rocks. There worth it if you don’t have or don’t want to put on high boots . Worth the money and should last a long time. The are a little sweaty put so are my boots.

Bought these for shin protection as I do yard trimming. Previously, I was using soccer shin-guards, but they were not enough to offer protection from the occasional rock hitting my lower legs. These snake gaiters are very well made, but I have to return them due to the fact that they do not close completely around the back of my calves.

Flexible,fit my fat calves, they will makes your legs sweat, but they are comfortable.

I agree with those who say these snake gaiters deserve 5 stars, but my review is unique. And, I guess, a little strange..I have a problem. A cat problem. I love my cat Nelson, but he's sort of...well...crazy. Despite being spoiled and treated like royalty he's very insecure and feels terribly threatened by some feral cats that frequently pass by my house. To make a long story short he got out of the house a while ago and encountered those feral cats up close and personal. I finally got him to run back inside but he was so agitated that he turned around as I walked toward him and attacked me. Little brat put a pretty good bite on my leg. Now, I am absolutely sure he didn't realize he was biting me. For all he knew those feral cats were still there and when he sensed movement behind him he decided to bite first and ask questions later.Another long story short, it happened a second time several months later. For those of you who think I should have gotten rid of him, you have to understand that I really love this cat. He's a rescue and I raised him from a pitiful little three week old orphan. He is no trouble at all and normally not at all aggressive. And that's all very well and good but I certainly couldn't let him continue to take chunks out of my leg. I needed a solution. Snake gaiters!Although I am usually very careful about keeping Nelson from getting out, he has still managed to do so a couple more times. He always runs right back inside but he's always extremely agitated and hostile from his feral encounter. So now when he gets out, before I let him inside I put on these snake gaiters to protect my legs. They work perfectly.Twelve pounds of furious cat lunging at your leg will do more physical damage than a snake (without the venom, of course) and if these gaiters will protect against that--which they do--they can take on whatever any snake has to offer.

These are a great alternative to having to wear tall hot snake boots. Don't always need the bulky boot but still need protection from snakes, such as with hiking and fishing. If you prefer the shorter hunting boot for insulation these provide the snake protection. My husband loves them.

The guards seem to be of very good quality. Haven't had the opportunity to see how well they work (thank goodness! - and hope I never have to find out!) Wish they had a smaller size. The height of the guard hits my kneecap - but hoping it won't be a hindrance to comfort while hiking.

Thought I had reviewed these already. These are perfect for my purposes. I have had them for over a year and they have held up perfectly and suit my purposes.

Good Product

Great for riding my off road bike in amongst sharp bushes and stone strikes from the from wheel. Also comes in handy when up in the garden amongst the sharp bromalaids in our garden.

Back of my ankles are not fully covered with my normal hiking boots. There will work better with ankle high boots.
