Need to show the ingredients
Well, you know, the ingredient list on these is just nasty. I'd often give a lower score just for that, but I think I knew there was no way something like this was going to escape having stabilizers and other gross stuff inside. So I figured I'd try it anyway. I am thinking I should lower the score because the ingredients weren't even showing when I saw the product, so they know it's something to hide. Just be aware - you may not care anyway. They taste pretty good. Until recently, I hadn't had bubble tea except from Asian shops in Asia or big cities here, so it was a real treat. I guess it doesn't have quite the same flair at home, and I'm not sure if that's because these taste different or just because it's not such a novelty anymore, although I suspect the latter.Anyway, you just need to add these to some super sweet and milky tea. You probably ought to have some wide straws as well.

hard bits in them even after softened
Easy to make. I boil water in the microwave and then just drop what I need in to soak. They are ready in minutes. Flavor is good but there is a hard bits in them and that part was kind of a deal breaker.

Takes A Bit Of Work But Has A Good Texture When Done
The 250 gram (8.8 ounce) package has enough tapioca pearls to make quite a few glasses of Boba Tea but, unless you are making it for a crowd, don't cook the whole package at once because the package says to consume them within 4 hours of cooking.I tried about an 1/8 cup of the pearls first and found that when cooked for 2 minutes and rested for 2 minutes and then dipped into cold water for 30 seconds they were just too chewy for my taste. The next time I cooked them for 3 minutes and rested them for 3 minutes before the cold water shocking and found the texture much better but felt they needed some sweetening to be best and adding honey to the tea mixture didn't quite do it.The third time I cooked 3 minutes in about 2 cups of boiling water with 2 tablespoons of sugar added, rested 3 minutes, cold water 30 seconds and they were great! The directions state that unopened packages can be stored at room temperature in a cool dry place but the pearls should be consumed as soon as possible after opening the package. I kept the opened package in the refrigerator after opening it but guess I should make more boba tea and finish the remainder of the pearls soon.

If you like boba tea you'll love these boba pearls
I keep hearing a lot of my friends race about boba tea and I've never had the opportunity to go to a place that has them so I decided to make my own...I think I did something wrong because my boba tea was horribly sweet and from what I've been told I shouldn't add as much sugar as I did along with the boba pearls because they have a sweetness too...so I decided to make another and it was better but I have a texture issue and I'd never had tapioca pudding as an adult because as a kid it grossed me out...boba is tapioca pearls just bigger pearls than in pudding and they're flavored too this one is black sugar which had a mellow sweet taste not very overwhelming but I couldn't get past the chewy boba pearls but my friend loved them and kept saying how awesome it was and how it tasted so good for my second attempt at homemade boba tea with these pearls...so yay I'm glad it turned out good. The directions are very easy to follow to make the pearls and the price is pretty reasonable from what my friend told me she paid for 2 boba teas at a place in a bigger town than where I live and I'm very happy that this package is way cheaper and makes more than 2 boba teas and I'm sure if I could get over my texture issue I'd love these boba pearls the tea was excellent flavored with them I'm glad I followed my friends advice about cutting down on added sugar since these added their sweetness and unique flavor to the tea. If you love boba teas and want to make your own at home then these are perfect.

Bag sliced open
We received the boba quickly which was exciting but when we removed it from the bubble mailer it came in there was a big slice across the bag. Not sure who to contact about defective product since it says “no returns”. Would appreciate a replacement or refund.
