Superb microphone for the price, poorly designed mount
Great quality mic for the price. The sound comes in much clearer now and with the included dead cat there is little to no wind interference when outside. However, I was severely disappointed like many others in how poorly the shock mount was built. This doesn't seem to be so much of a problem of the material as it is the sizing of the gap to fit the mic in. If they can just resize the mount fitting, it should have no trouble getting on and having a secure fit. Not sure if I should just get a new one or try what the other and super glue it down. But as a mini shotgun microphone, I can't knock it much as it has great quality for almost half the price of the Rode equivalent.

Boya BY-MM! Vs Rode VideoMicro
This is an excellent mini shotgun. Works well with my mobile videography with my DJI Osmo Mobile 2. Compared and stacked up against the Rode VideoMicro and i was absolutely impressed. the lower frequency response works in its favor because you get better lows and it cuts down on higher pitch background noise like nearby cars passing. Also it comes with both the TRS and TRRS cable so you can use it on your camera or mobile phone. the Rode only comes with a TRS and the TRRS i needed was fifteen more bucks, making it 75 for everything i needed instead of this mic, which is the full package for less than half!only downside is the cables feel a little cheap, but you can use the Rode cables if you like the coiled ones.If youre considering this or the Rode, get this. I love Rode but this is the same quality for much less.

Failed Fast! - More or Less. Day 2 Update
Update - Next Day 1 star to 3While I have to sheepishly admit that some of this is user error, there are still a few issues. Regardless, somehow the mic started working. The user error comes from my trying to use this item with a camcorder. It does not work with the Canon Vixia series. Period. Naturally, my gripe is that I don't remember seeing that in the description anywhere.I don't know why it suddenly started working just fine on my iPhone. No matter what I did, it did not work at all when I first got it, but to give it benefit of the doubt, I gave it one more run through. It works fine. Go figure.I tried to use it on my Panasonic Lumix G6, and I don't get anything more than a tinny sound that's worse than the onboard mic.Since I have a while before it has to be returned, I'm going to give it a go and see how well it does. I will be taking it with me on my vacation. However, to be on the safe side, I will bring my honkin' big shotgun mic for sound, just in case. Which, of course, I don't want to do and that was the reason I bought this microphone in the first place.Stay tuned for later updates. I promise to update after my vacation to let you know how it worked.****************I wanted a mini microphone to use on my IPhone 6S plus and my Canon camcorder for an upcoming vacation. I did not want to spend a lot of money because I knew that I would be purchasing something a little better when the 10th anniversary/iPhone 8 model comes out. I was looking for something that would give me a decent sound and that I could possibly use for YouTube videos a little bit later on. All it had to do is to last a while. It was delivered quickly, and it was nicely packaged in an appropriately sized box. Naturally, the first thing I did was to scan the directions – this is not my first microphone rodeo, but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything – and then started to test it. I used the TRRS cable on my iPhone and the mic. The first test was right into the phone, first without the microphone, and then with the microphone plugged in. It worked fine, but I didn't hear a great deal of difference.I then tried the same test at arm's-length, because that is where I am most likely to speak into the phone. Naturally, the initial test directly into the iPhone worked as I expected. The second test into the microphone was total silence. I tried it again making sure that the microphone cable was properly seated. Same result. I then took off my case, thinking that perhaps the case was somehow interfering. Once again, nothing. Wanting to give the microphone benefit of the doubt, I tried it on the camcorder using the proper cable. Once again, perfect sound on the camcorder mic, and dead silence on the microphone. In other words, the microphone failed completely and profoundly.I was a little nervous about being the first person to leave a review. I was hoping to be happily surprised and to leave a good review, because I just don't like to leave bad reviews. At the same time however, I expect things that I pay for to work properly. I was really hoping to be able to use this to replace the lavaliers I have used in the past, because they can be a real pain. However, even the cheapest of them work well enough for my needs.Maybe someone else's luck will be different, but at this time I cannot recommend something that is so unstable and unreliable as to not even survive a test run. Needless to say, this will not be traveling with me on my vacation and will be packed up and sent back to Amazon.

Works with ebird
This works great with recording and identifying birds with my Android phone. I grab it just as often as the binoculars as the wind breaker and directional recording are super helpful.

Don't waste your time. This is a swap-meet knock off.
I am dumbfounded that this mic get's anything but one star reviews. Like many people here I was steered toward purchasing this not only because of the positive reviews on Amazon, but because of the many video reviews out there that claim this is a good mic. When I received this, I immediately started testing it. I tested it on various subjects and settings. When I played the videos back, I wasn't sure if I was hearing any improvement over the iPhone 7 on board mic. So, I did a test of the same subject and setting both with and without the mic. I downloaded the videos then played them both one after another. I was hard pressed to tell the two apart. The only real difference was that the on board mic seemed to impart more "hiss" to the video. Otherwise the sound was almost identical. This mic is an absolute joke and nothing more than a swap-meet knock off of the Rhode mic of similar design. The way I see it, there are two explanations: 1) I got a bad mic. This is possible but not very likely. 2) There are many shills out there giving favorable reviews to this mic in return for something else. I guess bloggers need to get paid but there has to be a better way to make blogging profitable than to commit fraud for a few bucks.

Rode what? Better results for $30 less
I am so very pleased with this microphone. I lucked up and caught it for $29.99 and couldnt be happier. I watched review after review saying that it was as good if not better than the Rode. I couldnt agree more after trying both out. I highly recommend it for anyone that wants Rode performance without a rode price tag.

Good for price
Great for the price. It’s not the most amazing quality audio but it was only $40 so not going to complain too much. It gets the job done and I mainly use it for after filming ADR.

Chegou bem rápido e atingiu a expectativa

It does wonders if you know how to use it.
Great build quality. Use it with Audacity to clean your audio a bit and they'll produce studio quality sound.

Le micro
C'est pas mal mais il n'y a pas vraiment de différence entre le avant et après, donc je suis un peu déçu 😥

Good sound for a reasonable price
Have been using this mic to record vlogs and works well with my Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note 8. The build quality of the mic is solid and the dead cat works well to cut wind noise. The downsides of the mic are due to its mounting bracket the plastic is very stiff and it's hard to install the mic without breaking. It can also send some handling noise to the mic if you are not careful. In conclusion, it is a good mic for getting better sound in videos you just have to be careful when putting it away as the bracket is of a stiff breakable plastic. I bought a plastic storage box to put it in while in my camera backpack.
