SSD has that warning in the drug information pamphlet, but I used it extensively for a 3rd degree burn and it did not change the color of my skin. The bandages would oxidize a little after removal, but SSD still didnt affect the burn site with any discoloration. This Results ACS 200 is great for long term treatment of the resulting scar. I apply liberally and there just aren't any negatives. **Q: Does it have an odor?** A: No, it does not have an odor. I love this stuff. You have to be quick to spread it onto a leg, let's say, because gravity will get it going floor bound down your leg in a hurry. But I am using it to clean and disinfect a nasty infection I have on my own leg now. It is a clear gel, with no odor and easy to apply.
