Tasty!
Excellent and delicious product. Good texture and amount of Pistachios. Not too sweet. Quite similar to the one I used to consume in Egypt (which by the way was bought by weight from a neighborhood Greek Grocer). I would recommend it and intend to purchase again..to the chagrin of my waistline and my Physician. Here is information from a notice attached to the can's lid: The product name is Macedonian Halva with pistachio nuts. How do you eat this??
The product is in the can in one lump. Not cut in pieces which is odd! How is it to be eaten? By the spoonful? The flavor is delicious but I wish it was in pieces!

One of the best Chalvas
I know this kind of chalva from Cyprus, thats why I ordered it here in US. I was happy to find it. I recommend to everybody who likes chalvas, halvas etc. I tried also one turkish chalva, but this one - Macedonian is still one of my best. Its aprx. 1 lb but it will last for long. You can keep it in the fridge or outside the fridge. Now i have it out, and my partner and me will probably eat it next few weeks..Use as a snack, before meal, after meal it is maybe little hevier, between meals, very good for your health, digestive system and especially for all picky tongues.

Excellent
This is excellent canned halvah. Along with Joyva, the best halvah I've bought that's not deli. This halvah is drier, flakier, less dense and less oily than the Joyva, so it's a matter of preference in picking between the two. I've tried 6 different brands over the past year and none of the others rated more than 2 stars, so if you're 'hunting' start here. Enjoy.

A bit different from traditional halva
This product is all right if your goal it to introduce a guest you don't particularly care about to the notion of halva. It differs from traditional halva in a couple of ways. First, it has added monosaccharides (e.g., glucose). This is not part of traditional halva, and it is extremely unhealthy. Second, the overall sugar/carb content is extremely high. Traditional halva should have more tahini (more fiber and fat) and less sugar/carbs in it. Having observed this, I am forced to conclude that this is an extremely unhealthy and cheapened version of halva. The manufacturer added a lot of cheap artifical sugars (the monosaccharides) and regular sugar to lower the cost of the product. The result is something even less healthy than the traditional dessert. This is also why this product crumbles easily, more so than traditional halva would. I should probably add that I lived in the Balkans for a couple of decades and know a bit about halva.

Authentic Taste & Presentation
If it's authentic Greek style Halva you're looking for, look no further....you've found it. My sister and I enjoyed the Greek style Halva so much when we visited Greece, I decided to get her some for her birthday as a reminder of our travels. This one fit the bill.....Buy it...You'll like it!
