Q: What are the measurements of the actual basin of this travel potty? I just bought a different brand that was way too small so that's why I asked!

Not sure of the exact measurements...maybe its in the description. I do know this was a life saver for me with my potty training youngster. Looks like a lunch box so not embarrassing to carry it around. She still uses it sometimes when there isnt a bathroom and she is almost 5 and fits perfect.

Q: What are the measurements of the potty seat? I'm concerned my 2.5 year old might be too big for it..

Hi! The potty is about 9.5 inches long, 9 inches wide, and about 6 inches tall. I have 2 1/2 year old twins, one is in the 95th percentile for height, and they use it with no problems. This has been a lifesaver for us. I keep it in the car for those "emergencies" on long trips. It does not leak! Definitely worth the $$$.

Q: Does the potty come apart for cleaning?

No it does not. It is very simple to clean though, and I leave it open to air dry out after being cleaned.

Q: Can you use bags with the potty?

Im not sure about the size and shape of the bags you're referring to, but the seal is very tight, so if the bag would fit to the edge of the potty seat I think it would work fine.
