NordicTrack Elliptical Bike Resistance Motor Brake Tensioner 193223 6v

Exact fit and alignment. I used spacer about 3 credit card thickness between resistance magnet and the inductive wheel WHEN the console was set for MAX RESISTANCE. Then cycled to MIN RESISTANCE which increases gap between resistance magnet and inductive wheel (over 1/2 inch gap). Make sure to wind the resistance cable the correct direction around the motor sprocket with cable lug captured by motor sprocket slot and the cable feed thru the plastic cable guide rails which is part of the plastic motor enclosure. Cycle between MIN and MAX resistance settings several times to ensure motor gears do not slip. Works great.

The hardest part of repairing my exercise bike was figuring out what was wrong with it and the name of the part I needed. Who knew it’s called a resistance motor?! Despite my bike not being on the list, I was able to use YouTube videos made for recumbent bikes to figure out the part I needed. It was an easy fix.

It's the exact fit for my old NordicTrack recumbent bike model SL 728. It took longer to figure out how to position the plastic cover with the pedals attached than to install the new motor. I only needed a philips screwdriver and a flashlight. Super easy fix once you find all the screws holding on the plastic cover.

Very thankful this was available, I was given an older elliptical and the resistance was too tough to work out on and realized this part was my issue. Found a video to replace it and it works smoothly as it should!

Had to do a lot of research and finally settled on this motor for our Nordic Track E5.9 (Model 831.23957.2). Fortunately it was a perfect match, installed easily with no modifications needed and got our machine back up and running! Thank you!
