How I used my extension cable for jump starting (*only small 6V or 12V Powersports batteries): A riding buddy had some battery problems and after we stopped for gas his bike wouldn't start. We moved away from the pumps and then I hooked the extension cable up to my bike, connected a polarity reversal adapter, and then the SAE battery clamps that came with my Battery Tender and attached them to his battery posts. His bike started and we were able to finish our ride. Lucky for him, when my bike is not in storage I keep my Battery Tender and components in my saddlebags to avoid misplacing them between seasons. I bought this cable because I have limited power sources in my garage and needed more length to keep my Battery Tender and motorcycle plugged in and out of the way during winter storage. I also bought a set of SAE Polarity Reversal Adapters which helps avoid confusion and allows me to use the extension cable for jump starting. You need to reverse polarity when using SAE power cables for jump starts otherwise you'll be connecting positive to negative and vice versa between batteries - NOT GOOD! because you'll boost the amperage output of the two batteries and fry something on both bikes. *I take no responsibility for damages caused using my example. I also do not recommend jump starting a motorcycle using a car battery or while an engine is running, as damages or bodily harm may occur in those scenarios. Do not use this cable for jump starting larger vehicles (lawn tractors, boats, cars, trucks...) because the wire gauge is too thin to support the higher CCA battery ratings and could start an electrical fire. Also, do not connect between batteries with different voltages (6V to 12V) which could cause an explosion. Disconnect the cable immediately once the other bike has started.

I use this product to keep the old truck charged up, the cord fits under the garage door rubber. The unit stays indoors.

This quick disconnect extension cable works with my existing Battery Tender to keep the battery properly charged in my extra truck. Since I keep my truck in the driveway, I didn't want to keep my Battery Tender out in the weather or under the hood. Nor did I want to run a 120-volt extension cord outside where it could get wet and shock someone. Now, with this long cable, I can keep the Battery Tender mounted on the wall inside the garage and I can run the 12-volt 25-foot extension outside to the vehicle as needed. Of course, before connecting and installation, read the manuals for safety-related information specific to your intended use. As an added bonus of unintended consequences, I can see the status LEDs on the Battery Tender from inside the garage. The cable is built tough: the connectors are attached to the cable well, the insulation is thick, and one end of the cable is fitted with a plastic cover that can be snapped onto the electrical connector to keep it clean and minimize weathering when not connected to the vehicle. SOLAR USERS: This cable is 16 gauge. Most wire size-to-ampacity tables recommend no more than 3.7 amps on this size conductor; check your operating and short circuit current ratings on your solar panel(s) / module(s) before connecting.

A must have if you have a newer battery tender. I have a newer car that has all the bells and whistles and those bells and whistles drain the battery even when its off. I dont drive it that often since I work from home, there is nothing worse than going out and the battery is dead. This cord has allowed me to keep the battery tender in the house where its dry and run the cord out of the window to my car keeping my battery fully charged at all times. No need to worry about it getting damp or wet if it rains since the battery tender need to be kept in a dry environment. Im a happy happy girl !

Great quality but very stiff and lacks flexibility. Almost like lamp cord....

Purchased 2 of these for my vintage pickup which gets connected during cold-weather months. Combined with Deltran Ring Terminal Harness Accessory Cable - 18 inch Cord Adapter with SAE Quick Disconnect (081-0069-6), it completes a 'permanent' installation. One extension was adequate to route from battery to rear bumper. The other extension connects at the rear bumper and extends into the garage where the charger unit is kept. This setup allows easy connect/disconnect access when the truck is outside with cover on. Easily disconnected at rear bumper and pigtail tucked up inside rear of bumper. Just remember to disconnect before driving off!

Used to run my fan for my Gunner kennel into 12 volt for truck. Worked great

My mother, who is 84 years old ,needed a solution to keep her car battery charged since she only drives short distances around once a week. We found the Battery Tender at a local hardware store but needed the extension cable so that we could thread the cable underneath her hood so that she would not have to open the hood when plugging in & unplugging her vehicle. Her dealership installed the ring terminals to the battery & connected this extension cable. The cable was a bit long but they secured it inside so that only a short piece sticks out from under her hood, This works perfectly and now her battery is always charged.
