Biggles mostly by road in Scotland
Biggles and his team meet Eddie Ross once again. This American policeman shared their adventure in 'Biggles' Combined Operation' and now he has come to Britain to ask for the Air Police's help in another case. It concerns the child of a millionaire who has gone missing and Eddie suspects the kidnapped boy and his abductor may have travelled to London on false passports.Sadly this is another case where, though aeroplanes may briefly feature in aspects of the story, they do not play a major part in the excitements of the adventure. Indeed large parts of the tale become concerned with fruitless chases after the wrongdoers by humble motor vehicles.Captain Johns was an expert on salmon fishing and it is this knowledge which he deploys to good effect as the pursuit develops all over Scotland. Ginger plays a large part in the climax of the tale and the confrontation with the gangsters but this is certainly one of the more humdrum of the post-war exploits.
