Pretty basic steps building into the actual writing of a narrative or opinion piece. It helps the student see what they need to do first, and so on. We are about 1/2 way through the book and my granddaughters writing is improving some. She still hates to write though. I think many of the subjects that are used in here for the writing assignments are better for students that attend public school, as practice at home. My student is home schooled and has not had many of the experiences that they want her to write about. I have adapted some of them to fit what she does know or had her do some research. All in all I think it is helping make it easier for her.

It's Okay
We used this for writing practice for our 2nd grade homeschooler and it doesn't really work for us. She still hates writing and some of the lessons are so weird that we end up skipping them. It encourages creative thinking and the first lesson sets up the rest of the week nicely, but she's never excited to do it and we find ourselves scratching our heads on what some of the lessons instruct you to do. We will be trying Spectrum for 3rd grade.

I like this one a lot!
It is easy to keep track of the days and the assignments. Some days take longer than others, but that helps keep my kid's attention. He just finished second grade, and I got this for him to do to make sure he didn't fall behind during the quarantine. I would recommend it for any kid that needs a little extra practice in writing (like my son).

The exercises are easy yet challenging enough for her to work through
We have been using this for our daughter (7 yrs old) over the last month making sure she is prepared for 2nd grade. It has helped her tremendously. The exercises are easy yet challenging enough for her to work through. We have seen a great deal of improvement in our daughters writing.

Son hates this book
There is a lot in this book. It seems a bit repetitive and isn’t really enjoyable. My son absolutely hates this book. We will finish it but definitely look for something else.

Not what I expected
I ended up returning this book as it was not at all what I expected it to be. I was looking for a work book that has samples of handwriting to practice where the child writes in the book. This was not at all what I was looking for so don't be misled.

LOVE!!!
I was looking for a challenging writing curriculum at my child's grade level and this was a great find. I enjoy how each week is laid out in an organized lesson plan. It is challenging for the age level.

Nice, fun workbook for my son
This is a good workbook, but the first week's lesson was very classroom centric, so it was of little use to us as homeschoolers. So, we just skipped the first week and started on week two. No big.
