CHI Ionic 4A Dark Ash Brown Permanent Shine Color

Over 1 year ago, I developed a severe hair dye allergy (blisters all over my scalp, ears, upper back, chest and arms). It was damaging both physically and mentally, but because I refused to go gray, I kept at it. I tried other so called "PPD-Free" products and even henna, but they didn't cover the gray and washed out after 2 or 3 shampoos. About a month ago, I came across this product in an article and thought, "I'm gonna give it one more shot!" (I had started contemplating cutting all my hair off and letting it go gray.) This has a really nice, frosting-like application which doesn't drip at all- stays right where you put it. It completely covered my gray and best of all, my skin tolerates it. I will admit that I experienced some itching that lasted about 2 days, but after my next shampoo, it pretty much subsided. (Previously, the pain and itch was severe and did not let up for 4 or 5 weeks.) I have dark brown hair and want to keep it that way, so I use shade 4A (Dark Ash Brown). Warm the tube in your hands prior to opening. Each tube provides 2 colorings, so use half (get one of those metal tube squeezers, otherwise, it will squeeze out of the sides and wreck the tube). Next, I use an equal amount of Chi Developer, volume 10. Mix it together and leave it on for 45 mins. (Next time, I may try leaving it on only 30 minutes to see if that will completely eliminate the itch. I've also heard that mixing in a packet of Sweet and Low helps.) Anyway, I'm thrilled to have finally found a great PPD-free hair color after much suffering and searching. I only hope Farouk continues to make it.
