Secondary Data in Mixed Methods Research (Mixed Methods Research Series)

This book was GREAT! It offered practical insights and helped me navigate the complexities of incorporating secondary data into my dissertation. I found the book helpful in setting up my mixed methods design, assessing whether the secondary data I selected was appropriate, and drawing meaningful conclusions from my findings. The book included some great examples and (to my surprise) LOTS of tables and figures! Thanks to this book, my confidence in handling different data sources in mixed methods research has dramatically improved. I HIGHLY recommend it to people who need a step-by-step guide on integrating secondary data into a mixed methods project.

I'm a PhD student with mad imposter syndrome but Dr. Watkins makes me feel like I can be a mixed method scholar. The real-life scenarios and case studies make it easily digestible and applicable to your own research. I definitely recommend it to all researchers who want to learn mixed-methods.

I recently had my university purchase this text for my research team. I've found it is an excellent resource for those new to mixed methods, looking for a refresher and seasoned investigators. Dr. Watkins is an international leader in mixed-methods research, offers online synchronous training for mixed-methods in addition to a variety of other publications and online resources. This text just adds to the variety of accessible (and affordable!) materials Dr. Watkins intentionally makes available to the academic and wider community. These days, no matter the field, having a clear step by step set of instructions for using mixed methods to tell a story with qualitative and quantitative data is much needed. It was helpful getting this guidance while also getting a strong theoretical background. Absolutely recommend!
