Der Zeichen- und Schreibstil von Elise Gravel hat mir sofort gefallen, so dass ich mich auf die Suche machte nach Veröffentlichungen von ihr. Meine achtjährige Tochter mag die Bücher auch, so dass wir uns ein paar aus der Reihe "Disgusting Critters" besorgt haben.Mein Schwager forscht als Biologe rund um Mücken. Seiner kleinen Tochter brachten wir dieses Büchlein mit und es kam sehr gut an. Die Infos, die man erhält, sind gut recherchiert (in einem anderen ihrer Disgusting Critters fanden wir schon einen Fehler) und man erfährt wirklich Neues über die Tiere. Die Illustrationen sind ansprechend und ganz schlicht gehalten. Ich denke, bei uns werden noch weitere Bücher aus der Serie Einzug halten.

I bought several of these books from the disgusting bug series for my grandchildren, 6 and 3. They loved them all. The six-year-old read them aloud to her brother. They laughed and laughed. Super illustrations! Now I have to get the rest of the books to make the complete set.

I bought this book for my 4-year-old son who has lately been asking me so many questions about mosquitoes. It's actually the perfect little book-- lots of interesting facts, cute illustrations, and a bit of humour too.
