Love the machine!
We love popcorn in our house. I was so afraid to purchase a nice brand and it not hold up. We use this popper almost daily! It will hold up. I have popped popcorn in this thing for almost two weeks now and it is still kicking. It is very pleasing, and I get compliments on it, when someone sees it on my counter. It does come with a small measuring spoon, to help you gauge how much oil you need. However, I keep my popcorn kernels soaked in a mason jar with canola oil. I scoop the amount and put in the popcorn maker and it let it do its thing. The lights are more for looks, and really dot keep your popcorn warm. You can take it apart and clean it, no issues. It has a tray that can be pulled out, for dumping the popcorn into whatever you want to serve it in.When we do pop the corn, i dont walk away from it. It does not stop on its on, and im afraid it will burn up? I am not sure but I stay with it, until all the kernels are popped.

This popcorn machine worked great for my daughters 10th birthday party
This popcorn machine worked great for my daughters 10th birthday party. We were making popcorn all night and the machine lasted all night and never overheated. It was very easy to clean and we have used it many times over since her party. My kids make popcorn all the time in it and they love it. I buy the spray butter and they spray it before they remove the popcorn and it works great. We love this product.

Great little kettle popcorn maker - near theater quality
This popcorn maker makes popcorn very close to movie theater quality. The key is buying oil and popcorn salt at your nearest warehouse store. The tray is a little small but does its job. Fits nicely on a bar - no need for the larger model with wheels. Makes movie night that much better. Bought another for relatives.

Stopped working normally
The first few times I used it, it worked great. After having it a few months now and using it good amount of times, I've noticed it is starting to act up - starting/stopping, rotating parts not making contact after corn starts to pop, grinding/jamming of machinery, etc. and it becoming louder and louder the more times I use it. Overall, I don't like it and will not be buying this brand again.

Fun, but has downsides
Let me say first that the kids loved watching this thing in action, which is a good thing since I had to make several batches. I'm not as thrilled however. My main hope for this cute gadget was that the popcorn would be crisper than when made in my old 'bowl-top' popcorn maker. That makes a really big batch that serves everyone and is easy to deal with, but the steam trapped in the bowl keeps the popcorn from being as crisp as microwave popcorn. That's too unhealthy to suit me so I have tolerated the less crisp version. Well, sadly, this popper doesn't seem to deliver popped corn that's super crisp either. It's okay, though, and that's not the part that limits my pleasure with this unit.It is fun to watch although that doesn't last long since a batch takes only about 4 minutes to make (after you've run a 3-5 minute warm up cycle) and subsequent batches seem to take a bit less. One batch fills the removable tray at the bottom with a little extra, about as much as is shown in the product display picture above. It's about as much as a bag of microwave popcorn, or a bit less. You need a good sized area to use the popper. It's too tall for under cabinet placement. The cord is not long but the directions say an extension cord can be used. It plugs into the rear of the metal popping bowl and must be removed to extract the bowl for cleaning and replugged each time. The side handle must also be unscrewed and removed to release the bowl and reattached after bowl cleaning. The handle is used to tip the hot bowl at the end of popping to dump the remaining popcorn into the tray. That seems a bit more fiddly than needed. I don't think you need to remove the bowl after each session though. Don't expect to use the first batch you make as there is residual oil from the manufacturing process that left black spots on my popped kernels, so I tossed that first batch and made a second which appeared clean. Because the plug is on the bottom of the popping bowl, you have to be careful cleaning it as that part can't get wet.The unit arrives very well packed and with an instruction pamphlet that is key to assembly and use. A measuring cup for oil and one for kernels are included, but the instructions also give measurements, should the supplied measuring devices become lost over time.Bottom line, the unit is fun for the kids to watch and they enjoyed the popcorn, so it will be good for their parties and 'movie night', but kids shouldn't try to use it themselves as the bowl gets very hot. It requires more attention than I'd like and storage is a concern.

... a year or two ago and it still works great. Easy to use and easy to clean
I bought this popper a year or two ago and it still works great. Easy to use and easy to clean. I did put the tray in the dishwasher and the silver color faded a little bit and the bottom cracked so I'd suggest washing it by hand. But it still works just fine. Very happy with this product. It's great for snacking or for when we have friends over.

This is our second one. First one still going ...
This is our second one. First one still going but we bought this for our daughter to go to college with. Makes just the right amount of popcorn and keeps her from having to eat microwavable popcorn with all the chemicals. She uses it at the house all the time along with my two other kids.
