Very educative
Absolutely loving it. Just finished 3 chapters. The first impression a book should give is it should make the reader curious on what the next chapter is going to teach you. This book does that. Will finish it in a day or two. Good one people..

A no-nonsense take on starting a restaurant
"Start up your restaurant" is a fine book which could serve as a checklist for someone seriously contemplating starting up in the restaurant space. The language is unpretentious and lucid which makes it a breezy read - one could finish the book in a couple of sittings. The flow of the book is such that each chapter should help the reader in getting his basics right on various aspects of restaurant panning. One word of caution - like all books that have been inspired by blogs, this book finds its genesis in a blog run by Jayanth. Hence if one has read his blog, the thought process would seem familiar and additional insights few and far between. Also, at the risk of sounding biased, the content (especially the licensing part) feels too localised (Bangalore) to be relevant for a wider audience. But all said and done, the book is authored by a practitioner (that counts for a lot) and offers not "rainbows and sunshine" but a cold hard look at the realities of the being a restaurant owner. Read this book if you have be romanticizing the idea of becoming a restaurateur. It could save you a few millions in cash and tears !

great book
just finished the book, its a very good book for people who are thinking about opening restaurant, chapters are nice and to the point, its not very detailing but will give you critical and relevant information on what is required. the best thing it also raises the risk associated with the project and what kind of challenges you can face and how to deal with these situations.

Outdated
A decent book but not really something that matches the current trend of the industry. Age old information and practices are mentioned.
