Review: Lead bad, wipes good - Bought these to keep in my range bag, the size is perfect, the scent is not too strong which is a good thing. Itโs a high quality very moist wipe that cleans very well. Easy to use and effective for all sorts of applications, I like to clean off the end of my polymer frame after a day at the range helps get the thick gunpowder residue off. Review: Essential to any range kit - Absolute MUST-HAVE for any range trip. Soap and water only gets the surface grit off. These take care of the nooks and crannies, and all the stubborn chemical residue. This is the smaller tub, which fits perfectly in my range bag, and there's a bunch in there so it'll last a while for individual use.

Cleans the lead residue off.
My gun club doesnโt have anywhere to wash our hands after shooting. I keep these in my range bag so I can clean up after a range session. These wipes are good quality, are nice and moist, and work well (though I havenโt tested to see if there is still lead residue on my hands). I use them to clean my hands and the soles of my shoes. Thereโs a larger size container available but this smaller size fits well in my range bag.

If you really think about itโฆ we NEED these.
We all know that there are a lot of things in โgun powderโ that we probably do not want to have on our hands for very long if we can help it. As much as I LOVE the smell of burnt powder in the air, itโs still not lost on me that many of the chemical compounds found in a powder charge really arenโt among the most healthy things in the world. As ammunition started becoming more difficult to find, it also became more expensiveโฆ when you could find some. And so in my case I began to buy โthe cheaper stuffโ, which in most cases is a LOT dirtier & more corrosive. Not burning as cleanly & efficiently, a lot more residue is left behind. In your gun, in the air, and on you. Especially if itโs of the โmilitary surplusโ variety that may have been sitting in a Eastern European ComBloc warehouse for who knows how long. The long & the short of it is this - especially if you shoot a LOT, and even if you only shoot a little, having these compounds on your hands is something youโd rather avoid if & owhen you can. Over the past few years Iโve likely tried every brand and type on the market, and most simply mask the odor with really strong floral scents & then leave a layer of lanolin (at least I think itโs lanolin) over the top of everything it failed to remove. Sealing it all against your skin rather than taking it off. Just as soap is essentially an emulsifier, or a key that opens the lock of getting oils off your skin, D Wipes seem to be the emulsifier that can get the compounds left over from a session on the range to come off your skin. I know theyโre good for your hands, and my wife uses them on her face & neck when she gets home just before washing her face (Iโm told that the manner in which a lady washes her face is of a certain type of magic that we mere men simply cannot understand), and she swears by that. Simply put, there has been nothing Iโm aware of that works as well & as thoroughly as D Wipes. Long gone are the days of Borax and a scrub brush - and Iโm thankful for that. Itโs not something that you HAVE to do, and to be fair many people just donโt worry about. But with the more that I learn about the chemicals & compounds that are found in most every type of powder charge used today, itโs at the very least worth the little bit of effort it takes to clean these things off your skin as much and as often as you can. Itโs one less thing to worry about, and anything that can reduce your health risks canโt necessarily be bad. Plusโฆ shooting isnโt the ONLY thing that can cause you to get lead & various VOCs on your skin. If you can - get a tub of D Wipes & try them out.

Good for the range bag. Pricey for what they are.
I use these to wipe myself down before leaving the range. They do good at removing lead particulate, but on some level they do feel like just moist towelettes. That said, my range stocks them at the counter so they must be worth something. I could never get the towelettes to stick in the lid properly so I always end up popping the lid off and grabbing one manually. I'm not sure about the high cost on these, I almost feel as though some store-bought ones might do the job 95% as well.

Use them at the range
I take two sheets of these and put them in a plastic baggie to take to the range with me. They work fantastic in cleaning my hands after I'm done shooting.
