I was super curious to try out this hose after my stainless steel casing broke on my original hose (due to mineral build-up from well water). What you have here is the plastic hose that would typically fit inside the stainless casing, with a colored-metal finish. It's well executed, but still has a plastic look, for sure. I would not purchase it again -- would go back to a stainless hose.

Too stiff, not flexible enough to sit flat against shower wall.

Looks like 1960s "space age" plastic
Bought this shower hose because I thought the smoothness of the material would be easier to keep clean. Well, it is, but it looks cheap and does not hang down flat against the wall because the plastic is not heavy enough. Buy the metal hose.
