My baby was 7mo (~20 lbs) when we traveled to Asia. At that age, he can sit with assistance only and most restaurants provide high chair for bigger kids but not infant. We do not know if chairs in the restaurant are probably cleaned, and we do not like anyone else to hold our baby while we are eating so putting him on laps with both hands freed up is very much needed. I think this is very useful to have for traveling. It is easy to use and it’s quite safe on baby. One thing to watch out, babies may lean forward too much and knock their heads to something like the table edge as this thing doesn’t support their neck/head.

I bought this for a plane trip we were taking since my 11 MO was going to be a lap infant. This worked WAY better than I expected! I wasn't sure how he would respond to sitting in it or being kept in it for that matter but he seemed really comfortable and seemed to prefer sitting in this vs just being held. It also takes the back and arm pressure off holding them 24/7 on the plane. Once its strapped to you and the baby they are well secured. Only problem for us was the airline made a stink about having him strapped in during takeoff. Seems like the best time to me...but what do I know.

It was nice for a flight to keep the baby on my lap and let her play with the little table.It was super comfortable and didn’t bother me or my child during the flight

The product did not come with a lap cloth as advertised. Also not very secure. Hopefully it will be of some use when my child is older, but with nothing between his legs keeping him from sliding out,it would be too dangerous to use right now, no matter how tightly we adjust the straps. Despite the fact that the advertising says that it can be used as soon as baby holds his head up by himself. You still would have to keep both hands on your baby. Purchased the item used.

I love this belt! I was traveling with my older child and baby so this allowed me to keep baby steady on my lap but freed up my hands to get anything out of my bag that I needed. I can’t recommend this enough!

I have a 3 month old and I am working from home. I bought this hoping I could use it while working, if the baby was fussy or wanted to be near me. It works so great and is such a lifesaver! I am also plus size and was worried whether it would fit or not. It fit with plenty of room!You use it for sitting, you won’t be able to stand up and walk around. But it works great for sitting at the desk and working or anytime you need your hands free!

One minute my 5 month old was sitting next she slid some and I heard her gasping for air. This is not for younger babies. It is very uncomfortable for me and baby. Velcro was scratching baby on back as she slid. Good idea but super poor execution. Would be useful if there was a strap in middle to keep baby from sliding. This product is also overpriced.

This LapBaby is a game changer, even the flight attendants were impressed. It is super comfortable and easy to put on yourself and baby. I put it on before boarding the plane and attach the teething toy I want; once seated, I strapped my 8 month old baby and TADA! My hands were free to help my 5 year old get her seat belt on and when the flight attendant came by to verify everyone was strapped in, he was impressed by the LapBaby and even said "more Moms should know about this." I will note that my baby was not able to nap in it, I know in a previous review a mom mentioned she kept her baby in it while he napped but we couldn't figure it out. I simply used the LapBaby as padding from the bulky airplane seat belt while my baby slept. I'm sure I can figure out the napping method if I really tried. My favorite part is the feeding mat! It is genius! you just unfold the mat, feed your baby while he/she is strapped on without worries of food getting on your lap and once baby is finished, you wipe the mat and fold it back into its pocket. So clever!!!! All in all, it is a great product and the comfort you get is worth every penny.
