At last - an office chair that actually fits me!
This chair is actually tall and wide enough for me to sit on comfortably in, which other "big and tall" chairs I've tried didn't do. (The last one I got about a year ago was too narrow and had no adjustable arms rests - so I could never use it). I put it together with some add on third party wheels (for about $40), which are a little taller and much higher quality than the standard office chair wheels that came with this chair - they work great and roll easily over minor bumps in my rough office floor. I like the fact that the chair arms are not only adjustable vertically, but also can be attached to be either closer of further apart from the chair seat - which is great for providing extra width. The one thing I wish was different in this chair is the pneumatic cylinder for height adjustment, since these always fail after a few months or years - but sadly no one makes the older "piano stool" screw height adjustment mechanisms anymore, which last forever. So given that I just got this chair, it remains to be seen how long the height adjustment cylinder will last before i have to resort to clamps to keep it fully up at its maximum height as I need. Good quality and comfortable, so for now this chair is highly recommended!

I HATE THIS CHAIR
I was VERY disappointed with this chair. I specifically bought this chair because of the claims made by seller. I needed a chair I could sit on all day every day; I'm disabled with bad knees, so about all I can do is sit at my computer at home all day. Seller says, "This chair was designed to meet your around the clock needs. Also known as Multi-Shift task chairs, a 24-hour office chair is designed for extended use or multiple-shift environments. This chair can be used in a 9-5 setting, but it was specifically designed to meet the needs of workers in 911 dispatch offices, nurses' Stations, call centers, control room engineers, Disc jockeys, and Government personnel."My chair's pneumatic lift stopped working after one month! I now feel like I'm sitting on the floor! I HATE THIS CHAIR!!!Seller goes on to say, "This chair has been tested to hold a capacity of up to 500 lbs...The pneumatic adjustment on this chair offers a very smooth adjustment range to achieve your desired height."I weigh 100 pounds less than this chair is rated for! At first I thought it might just be a mistake and the wrong pneumatic lift was packaged with my chair. So I contacted the seller and instead of honoring the warranty they told me to call the manufacturer. I then called the manufacturer and they told me to call the seller! So here I sit in my busted chair and I couldn't get ANY help from the seller or the manufacturer! My advice to anyone thinking of buying this chair or any chair made by "Flash Furniture" is THINK AGAIN! No Customer Service means your on your own! This is the first time I have paid this much money for an office chair and I couldn't be more disappointed! Used office chairs I have bought for $30 to $50 dollars have lasted me from a year to two years. I thought I was buying my last office chair so I spent the money expecting my chair to last maybe 10 years, instead it lasted a month!Think hard about paying this much money for a chair that could fail after a month of use! Although I don't think it's the chairs fault, I am mostly angry about the HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I received! Neither the seller nor the manufacturer would stand behind their product! Sending me a new pneumatic lift for the chair would have been the right thing to do, and it wouldn't have costed them very much, but instead they both passed me off to one another hoping that the other would make it right!

500# rated Office Chair - The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly
Let's preface this with 3 items:1. I was not compensation in any way for this review, I will never accept compensation for writing a review .2. I weigh between 390 & 410 most times. Hence the 16 Tons moniker. If you weigh less than this look at the 400 # rated chair or a 300 # rated chair, This chair will not be comfortable at all.3. I'm am Mechanical engineer by trade with 30+ years design experience. I routinely create and critique designs of all types. We'll start with the good:The chair arrived on time. When I unpacked it all the components were there, well wrapped to protect them, and appeared to be in good condition. The components appeared to be heavy duty and of good quality. As an example the piece used to attach the back to the seat is made from 3/8 inch bar, in standard chairs this would be either 1/8 or 3/16 thick bar.The base is made of metal with 5 welded spokes. The lift system is higher pressure than normal and operates smoothly while i'm in the chair, I only need a small effort to raise he chair. The instructions are pictographs and are accurate, it takes about 60 minutes to complete. It is almost impossible to insert the base into the socket alone. I left the chair upside down and inserted the base into the socket after carefully seating it I turned the chair over. I would recommend having a second person help. The chair is sturdy, of appropriate size / height, and does nor rock. The Bad:The control for the height is in a spot where people like me who hook their feet on the base of the chair can get scratched. The tilt mechanism is fully tightened down for shipping making it impossible to tilt the chair without loosening it. The spring is very strong. It takes a little effort to tilt even at the lowest tension. The spring is sized for people my weight or more. The depth of the back isn't adjustable, this might help with the effort to tilt the chair. The fit of the cover for the lumbar is poor and their are no instructions for doing so.The adjustment of the back of the chair, the lumbar support, the Height, and the tilt mechanism is not covered in the instructions. It would be best to have either a pictograph instruction or a written explanation of these functions. I didn't take any start for these. The Ugly:The packaging, carton was far to flimsy, as I carried the chair into the house things started to fall out. Placing this carton inside of another slightly larger carton will dramatically increase it's durability. I did take a star for this. It's a miracle it arrived undamaged, with all the parts inside.Overall, I would purchase this chair again, packaging not withstanding it is a great chair.

Nice, wide width, heavy duty chair.
Ok, I just got my chair today and put it together pretty easily. It came with all the parts packed well and even had the allen wrench included. I assembled it alone in about an hour with a few breaks in there. As soon as I took it out of the box I knew I had a good chair. I previously had an "executive" leather office chair from staples which I loved and thought was heavy duty. That chair died a slow death where first the lifting mechanism stopped working, then the leather started to degrade, and finally the wheels broke off. It was an old chair that I even slept in a few times, so I got my money worth. The next chair was cheap and uncomfortable basic computer chair I left when I moved apartments. But this chair is the real deal. It was wider than my favorite executive chair, the chrome base was reinforced and not hollow and just way sturdier, the wheels are stronger looking, and it is HEAVY DUTY. So far so good, I am sitting in it as I type this review. It lost one star because I don't know what the heck that lever on the left does? The instructions only have pictures and that lever is not labeled. If I figure it out I will revise the review. But it is a nice wide solid chair for us big folks.Edit:Ok, the left lever is the tilt lock duh. And I do love the chair and it deserves 5 stars even though I don't like the tilt. I score is 4.5 but will give it perfect 5 not to be the oddball :-)Edit 2: I've seen a lot of reviews saying the hydraulic lift breaks after a short while, and honestly mine was starting to go too. I think maybe a year in I started that slow sink when I sat down. I wrapped the cylinder in duct tape and kept using it, but the chair would sink and then I'd have a hard time lifting it up due to the tape gunk. I was wrestling with a chair! Finally, I just took the tape off and decided to live with it in the low position but for whatever reason, the chair works perfectly again? I can lift and lower it as usual. Maybe I got lucky because I was not planning on replacing that lift mechanism after paying so much for the chair.

Bolts sheered off
The base and seat are strong and comfortable, but in less than 1 year the bolts attaching the mesh back to the seat sheered off making it a stool...
