To reiterate what most people are saying, this is a really genius product. There isn't a single square centimeter of wasted space in your box. This makes starting games and cleaning up after games much quicker and avoids the many limitations of little plastic bags used to store objects, cards, etc. Everything is stored in a way that makes the game ready to play extremely quickly. One of the best features of this is the scoring boards. As anyone with the game knows, the flat cardboard scoring boards are difficult to use. One small bump of your table or board ad your pieces move all over and you don't know where cubes belong. This eliminates this and keeps your cubes right where they need to be. As others have noted, this comes disassembled. For the most part, the pieces fit very tightly and easily. The manufacturer recommends having a file to help with any edges that don't fit, but I did not need one - all of the pieces fit very well. Assembly was pretty easy - it took me about 90 minutes and I found it therapeutic, like building a puzzle. For the few pieces that didn't fit together as snugly as I would like, I used a bit of wood glue and that has worked well. Design wise it is brilliant, not just in function but in presentation as well. The first player token is a rocket ship, and the card shoe has little rockets on the side. It's a nice touch. The generation, temperature, and oxygen tokens are cute, too. They are not acrylic though. I felt like I read acrylic somewhere. Mine are wood. If I had one suggestion for improvement, I'd love to see a little color added beyond the generation, oxygen, and temperature markers. In particular, my wife often confuses heat and energy - so having the player boards show heat in red and energy in purple (plants in green, steel in brown, etc) to reflect the colors in the game would add an additional level of ease. Well, actually, two suggestions for improvement - for me, when I put the board in the box, it doesn't close fully - there is maybe a 1 cm gap between the bottom of the lid and the bottom of the box. It's a minor thing to me, but I know some other people would find that problematic. I know the organizer is expensive - I paid more than I paid for the actual game. For how often my family plays, I am extremely grateful I made the purchase. If you play this game with any regularity and you value your time, this is an excellent investment.

Was my first purchase from Broken Token, have the Firefly kit in my wish list. With friends and I playing quite a bit of Terraforming Mars lately opted to give this kit a try first. It arrived in a timely manner, first star. Was everything it said it was going to be and instructions were quite clear, second star. Everything fits inside the regular Terraforming box as described, a few minor adjustment due to me not quite seating a few of the pieces correctly and it fits like a glove. The manufacturers instructions are extremely easy to follow, my blind raven could build this without a problem. Initially built without gluing any of the parts as instructed. Everything stayed together without any problems, but I knew I would be handling the game quite a bit and the company recommends gluing any tray you will be pulling out and about often. So now everything is glued together, I plan to put a light stain on the wood to give it a little more strength and longevity. A simple change to the item that I did was mostly a cosmetic approach for myself. I took the old player mats and trimmed out the resource locations and glued them into the proper locations in the wooden trays so the resource locations are a little brighter to look at than the plain wood. Wish I had pictures to illustrate, lets just say that to my eyes they look better. So with the first 2 stars for product timely arrival & product quality. The last 3 stars are from the facts that the game is 100% easier for my friends and I to clean up now, set up is a heck of a lot easier, the special tiles are arranged with an ease to locate the one you need, and the card box makes drawing and discarding a heck of a lot easier to do without requiring any actual extra real-estate on the table while playing. And the expansions also fit inside they just don't allow for a flush close, no negatives on that hopefully they make a simple and affordable kit that some how makes it all fit without needing a whole new kit. That would make me a sad explorer and then a bad review might follow for that. But this kit is fantastic highly recommend for organized storage & ease of use for play as well.

At first, I was hesitant to purchase this. After all, this organizer costs almost as much as the game itself! However, now that I've received it, I am blown away by how great it is. Some serious planning went into the creation of this organizer. You can tell that whoever made this loved Terraforming Mars and put a tremendous amount of thought into how to organize everything. I can't even imagine the engineering genius that managed to make this all fit perfectly in the 3-dimensional space of the original box. With this organizer, there are no more bags. Everything is stored perfectly inside the storage pieces. The player tokens stay on the player boards. All the money cubes and city/greenery tiles fit into 2 organizers. Even the card holder is amazing, as it holds all of the cards even when sleeved. Personally, I play this game so often that I felt it necessary to protect the cards inside Dragon Shield sleeves, and all of the cards fit perfectly in the card box. The additional game piece tokens are also very nice. The board fits snugly into the top of the organizer when assembled. The only thing to be aware of is that you have to assemble everything yourself. When you open the package, you receive a large number of wooden boards that you pop pieces out of, and then you have to assemble every single piece of the organizer yourself. While the pieces do snap together pretty well, I would highly recommend using glue to make sure they stay together. The instructions are excellent, and there is also a video you can watch that helped me put it together. It took me a few hours to put it together. If you play this game regularly, you will absolutely love this organizer! I can't recommend it enough.

Excellent product! The instructions were simple and easy to understand. The laser cut pieces were easy enough to assemble, and the player boards and resource holders offer an exciting solution to "the terraforming mars mess." I opt'ed to paint everything, and use a custom background for the player boards (found on boardgame geek). I'm really excited about the design of the money/tile holders, and the upgraded O2/temp/generation markers. Overall, this feels like a great upgrade. But... There are a few gotchas to be aware of: - (with Ultra Pro Matte card sleeves) the card organizer only really fits the base game, corporate era, and venus expansion cards (it's pictured with the colonies expansion instead). It's far from capable of holding all 6 expansions (base, corporate, venus, prelude, colonies, turmoil). - the laser cutting on the player boards may have charring or fading. I used the custom print-out + painting to make up for that. - When the base map, map expansion, and venus track board are included in the box, it doesn't close entirely. There's about an inch of space (pictured). - In order to fit the assembled parts in the box, I had to remove the "mars terrain" insert that came with the base set. It was still a tight fit with everything. - The colonies tiles can all easily fit on two of the player boards (when stacked) without bothering the stacking. I hope this review helps! This thing is…. just……I am so glad I bought it. I was literally left speechless after I got it put together and put back in the box. I know what you are thinking. This organizer costs more than the game wtf?!? Trust me you WANT this organizer. It increases the value AND believe it or not, the actual game play of the game significantly. First, Terraforming Mars is an outstanding board game. However, I would rate the game itself a 7.5 out of 10 for what it is coming out of the box. Add this insert/organizer to the game…. easy 10/10 game. Let me explain why. The game comes with these horrendous player mats where the slightest bump will knock all your carefully placed pieces all over the place, and when you need them set specifically to keep track of numbers…. well it’s frustrating let’s just leave it at that. NOW this amazing organizer comes with ALL NEW organizers for all 5 players. Made of wood and indented so the pieces stay in place. Personally, those alone are worth the asking price of this set. But WAIT there’s more…. Not only do you get 5 complete organizers but you also get these cool little acrylic colored tokens that you replace the basic cheap little white cubes that track the temp, oxygen and generations in the game. Those are more just to spruce up your game a bit more and they look nice. There’s more!! You also get a full complement of organization for the complete game including a card tower with a cool rocket flying to mars carving in the sides. The tower holds the whole deck of cards at an angle to make them easy to draw from and separators so you can toss the discards cards in there as well. Also 2 token holders that hold (in separate compartments) all the gold silver and bronze resource cubes and the city/forest tiles. Let’s see what else is there…….AH YEAH, there is a nifty holder for all the cool little tiles of the random stuff that can happen in the game like a nuke and mines and a tiny little holder for the ocean tiles as well. Beyond that there is a whole new 1st player token that is a little wooden rocket! Oh, did I mention this entire set is wood?! Not only does it look great but it has that amazing wood smell. Oh, and the set does come needing full assembly. But honestly, I rather enjoyed my time putting it together, felt like I was actually creating something. Plus, once you spend the time building the set, to me, it just adds that much more value to it. There is an instruction booklet to help you and it’s super easy to follow and it does mention to use wood glue to make sure the pieces stay together. For me the pieces were expertly cut so the pieces all fit together very snug and the only thing I had to use wood glue on was the little first player rocket token which was just 2 pieces that fit together. So, let’s recap: Fully wooden organizer, increases value of board game, increases fun of board game with added/replacement pieces, the entire thing FITS IN THE BOX PERFECTLY, makes setup and cleanup a breeze, smells great looks great.

With a game that takes 2 or more hours for typical play, having player boards that keep the markers in place is a must. One wrong sneeze or bump and markers everywhere and a frustrating restart. This makes putting away organized and next game setup is super fast. The person(s) that designed this did a fantastic job. Every component has a purpose and fit together perfectly. The instructions are good and the pieces were designed to minimize confusion on how the pieces interconnect. Expect to spend a few hours assembling. If you have experience with assembling plastic model kits, then this should be straight forward. The instructions recommend gluing pieces for frequently used pieces but I would recommend gluing ALL pieces. I did not have to trim or sand any of the pieces but some were tricky to fit. I used wood glue and damp paper towels and damp q-tips to wipe excess glue from pieces. Before assembling trays determine if you want colored print on playing trays. If yes, there are templates on gameboardgeek site. You can print colored underlayments which would need to be placed between the tray base and top layer before assembling and gluing frame. You can also color in with colored pens. I don't think any of the components would hold up well getting wet for any lengthy time but very sturdy and really elevates the look and feel of the game. If you play this game frequently, the time saved putting away and setting up justifies the cost. One minor improvment would be to have a few more card dividers included. If you contact manufacturer, you can get more for a nominal cost.

Incredibly well designed, attractive, unbelievable. They somehow manage to fit everything PERFECTLY into the original box. Assembling takes some work. I would definitely recommend using wood glue to attach the pieces to make for a sturdier product. I'd also recommend fitting each component together, then disassemble, and glue it together. Don't use too much glue - I used a toothpick to apply the glue. Well thought out, plays well. The only slight negative is that it's a little hard to get the Megacredit tokens out of the holder, but that was the case with anything else we tried to put them in. This is expensive, but you definitely get value for what you paid. Incredible craftsmanship, and thoughtful design, to the point of making it easy to slide your energy tokens to become heat. And little touches like having extra boxes for 20 and 30 for each of the token types. Well done!

Easy to assemble, stylish, and beautifully organized! It makes getting the game out / setup and cleaned up and put away just so easy and quick! It's a perfect fit in the box and even comes with some bonus / upgrade first player and game markers to enhance game play. The fact that the storage trays double as greatly improved player boards also is a dream come true. Even designed with expansions in mind. While a bit on the pricey side, if you love this game and play it often or want to get it to the table more, do yourself a favor and buy this box organizer from Broken Token.

Like other people have highlighted it is a little tight in the box, and once you have this, the main game plus the hellas expansion the box lid sits a little higher but it all fits well and I'm not that picky! It makes it so much better organised! Especially the tokens. The game play boards are fantastic - and from my research you can also get a coloured slide in for the boards so you might like to check that out before permanently putting your playing boards together. I noted there were a few comments about assembly but honestly it was no worse than IKEA, and everything is numbered and straight forward. Takes a while, but is pretty cool. Love the plastic tokens that replace the white squares. Compared to others I've seen on Etsy etc, definitely well worth the price. I have however left some of our bits in our Venus expansion box, but mostly because I couldn't bear parting with the box. The Venus expansion would have fitted as well. For general info with absolutely everything in the box i.e. both expansions and this the lid sits about a 1 - 1.5 cm higher than normal.

This set is amazing. We play the game almost daily and this has made the experience so much better. It took a few minutes to put together, and you definitely need the wood glue, but it is amazing. 10 out of 10.

Das Ganze lässt sich sehr gut mit der mitgelieferten Anleitung innerhalb 1,5 Stunden aufbauen. Die Holzteile sind passgenau und halten ganz ohne Leim. 1 Punkt Abzug für den doch recht stolzen Preis.
