I have used this stuff for years. I keep it in my RV, truck tool box, and at my house. It has save me on the road once and at the house several times. Is a great temporary/emergency fix on, pressurized water line until you can get a permanent fix in place, a radiator hose, or wherever you have a leak. I also used it on a old Ford truck to fix a leak on a high pressure AC line. I was losing freon, added the leak detector, id'd the leak, taped it up, put a hose clamp across the tape, topped off the freon, and here I am 3 years later and still works perfect. Just won't work on a threaded fitting where it meets the pipe. It won't get up into the threads. But works great on flat surfaces.

This self-fusing tape is no joke and works excellent!I had a leak develop at the J trap under the sink in our guest bathroom. Due to the limited space under the sink and the custom drain plumbing the previous owners installed in the distant past, I had to get creative. Suffice it to say I used this tape and it worked perfectly. Peel the backing off, give it a few good tugs to strech it out a little and then tightly wrap it around the section thats leaking.The tape molds itself to whatever shape you wrap and since it sticks to itself like glue (ZERO residue on your hands after using it) it easily wrapped around the top of the J traps tightner in a snug yet flexible seal.Imagine if you will, how a vacuume sealed bag of vegitables looks after all the air is sucked out. Thats how well this tape attached to and seals against itself.Will definately buy again.

some time ago I ordered rescue tape and was so impressed, that I gave it to a needy friend. It has taken some time to replace it, but I knew what I wanted. I must have been so excited to replace it that I miss ordered. I need the clear. As a 71 year young female, I am still "fixing". I crawled under a younger friends jeep to fix a hole in her muffler and it worked beautifully until she could fix it. I will be glad when I can get the "clear" version and continue on my "fixing" routine, to help .... seems that every person I know needs a little, or a lot of help. This kicked butt. Old copper had two burn thru's from clog busting chemicals. Previous owner used pipe cement to try and patch the pipes. Didn't work well.A solid application Rescue Tape sealed both leaks tight. After starting the wrap I pulled the tape tightly, finding it easy to stretch after removing the backing. Sticks to itself well, just be careful while handling as it will stick to itself.Worth the money and easy to wrap over the old residue.Highly recommended.

I have been using this tape for various projects for years. I had bought so many rolls years ago that I haven't need to buy a newer version until now. It still has great adhesion but I was very sad to find the tape is much thinner than the original version of this tape. Hence, the three stars instead of five.

I have used this in 2 locations and neither did a bit of good. My first repair was of a hose with a crack in it. I cleaned and prepared meticulously but hose just immediately leaked so I took it apart and tried two more times, each successively larger repairs but it sprayed and leaked more than before applying oddly. Not surprised by that, honestly-- it's a hose with a good deal of pressure so I was hopeful but realized it was unlikely to work. Second repair was a shocker. I had a tiny leak in a copper pipe....the equivalent of a few drops per day. It was so slow I thought it would "self repair". Since I had this product I figured one wrap or two would seal 'er up, especially tightly wound. It went on GREAT and I was dumbfounded to see it leaking more than before. I took it down and cleaned it up for take two....same result, only leaking 20xs what it was. I tightened the wrap and reinforced several times. This is a pic from minutes later. Junk! I've used similar tape in the past without issue, so I'm guessing it's just this product sucks.

This is the tape that fuses to itself creating a watertight seal. Very durable and a solid hold. As you pull the tape from the roll, peal off the extra clear tape covering the black product. This will expose the tape so it can adhere to itself. It is very sticky after the tape comes together with itself but will separate easily if you need to reposition the wrap. After the tape is together for awhile it becomes one with itself, a very good seal indeed.
