Sit and Be Fit
This is a really good low impact but high in results exercise program. I have had on and off back problems for some time. I was going to a local fitness center. They have a class similar for Seniors (I call Seniors, "Oldies but Goodies", it just sound more fun). Their class is only once a week, middle of the afternoon on a Friday. I am a morning person....with this program collection not only do I have access in the mornings but also every day of the week. Plus when the weather is bad I don't have to travel out in it.In this set they have 8 workouts 1. Arthritis Workout. 2.Balance and Fall Prevention Part I. 3. Balance and Fall Prevention Part II.4. Diabetes Workout. 5. Brain Workout. 6. Osteoporosis Workout. 7. Complete Seated Workout I. 8. Complete Workout II.Anyone could / would benefit.

Why is so much of it done standing instead of sitting?
Bought this for my mom but a big part of it is done while standing which isnโt as advertised. It also is done with balls and props which wasnโt clear. Too hard for my momโs level.

A series of various chair support exercises for seniors
This video contains many sessions of chair exercises for seniors. One or two sessions focus on people who have arthritis or other medical problems. You use mainly repeating simple movements. You may need a small tennis ball and a small child's ball for a few exercises. I got a bit carried away and did two full sessions thinking they were so simple, then my knee with the partial knee replacement felt sore the next two days, so do these with a bit of caution so you do not over work an area of your body that may have problems. The instructor is a trained nurse who has done these exercises with hospital patients, but go slowly to start with since you are doing these repeated steps on your own at home.

Got this for a friend - read review
I am in shape and broke my ankle a few years ago and went on You Tube for some exercises to do in a chair or wheelchair. So - I AM FAMILIAR with chair exercises, even chair Yoga. So, I viewed this online & thought it was a excellent video and this mature instructor sure has energy ! I have an obese friend who complains about weight and she has bad knees (wonder why) and I bought her this for her birthday. Well, she never bothered to try it and I guess she would rather complain than bother even moving her body in a chair.

Excellent for inactive person to begin again
Because of chronic health issues including charcot feet I cannot "go for a walk" as pressure on my feet, a fall, any little thing can result in bone fractures that do not heal properly. I have tried using gym equipment and taking classes for people with arthritis buthave always triggered bursitis or some other painful reaction/injury. I found with "SIT & BE FIT" that I had some mild muscle sorenessin a couple of spots it was nothing serious. I was also using a 3# hand weight the first time which I put aside for the time being. I amhappy with this video as I believe it will keep me from doing too much too soon resulting in injury. For now, it is where I am and it isa challenge.

Very good activity, excellent encouragement.
God bless this woman. She has been lifting spirits of those fighting for mobility and increased strength for years. She's makes the workouts entirely do-able in a chair, but even a fit person who does not need so much chair activity, can get a sweat and a smile out out of this. Her voice and encouragement are pleasing - not annoying and hyper. This is a fine series of exercise dvd's, especially if you are restricted and a little down about it. She'll pick you right up. I am not a geriatric person, just disabled...and I find her to be appealing to all ages. p.s. double check, some workouts call for a few props - specific sized balls, light weights, and a long towel/band for lifting legs.

sit and be fit arthritis workout needs more sitting excercies.
I was very dissappointed that all of the video was not sitting excercise. I think the emphasis shoud have been showing everything sitting down with a comment that excercises could also be done standing instead of the other way around. There was not enough of an aerobic component. However; I did like the foot and hand stretching component.I would not recommend this to anyone that is in a wheelchair or has mobility difficulties.I ordered this because I think the show has some excellent workouts and I would recommend the TV series.

I ordered these for my mother, and they've helped ...
I ordered these for my mother, and they've helped her a lot. She's 62 with a bulging disc in her back, so she has to be careful with movement.
