HYB D4R HID Bulbs, 8000K Diamond White Xenon Replacement D4R HID Headlight Bulb, 35W Low Beam 42406 66450 42406WX Car Headlamps, IP68 Waterproof Design (Pack of 2)

I purchased this pair of HID bulbs to replace the original bulbs in my 2007 Toyota Prius. These replacement bulbs were an exact fit for the replacement, and provide an excellent quantity and quality of light. One of the bulbs in my Prius was beginning to flicker, which I learned was a sign of impending failure. Considering that my Prius has 98,000+ miles on it without a replacement to-date, I feel very lucky. I learned that the cost of having the bulbs replaced by Toyota could be $500 or more, I was determined to take on the exercise myself.Replacing these bulbs is not something that just anyone should take on... like all other things Prius-related, the amount of space to work in is extremely tight and the process is potentially difficult. However, after studying the tutorials for the process online through YouTube and PriusChat, I felt more than capable. The most effective means to replace the bulbs involves removing the headlamp assembly, which also involves loosening the bumper cover and grille. That sounds like a lot of effort, but now that I know how it's done, I could easily complete the process of removing, replacing the bulb, and reinstalling the headlamp assembly in about 15 minutes per headlamp. If you choose to attempt this, I SERIOUSLY recommend researching and learning about the process first.I chose the 8,000 CRI version of the bulbs to provide the whitest, brightest light, and I'm very happy with my choice even though the do have a blueish tint. The 6,000 CRI version is probably closer to actual daylight. The OEM bulbs are 4,100 CRI, which provides a more yellow, warm light that's just not as effective at lighting the roadway a night. I was completely amazed at how much better I could see after replacing these bulbs.I read a few reviews where people complained that the bulbs burned out shortly after installation. Like halogen bulbs, it is critical that you do not touch the glass portion of the bulb at any time... the oils from your skin will cause the bulb to burn out in short order. When the bulbs arrived, I was happy to see that they were enclosed in a clear plastic container and also had a protective foam sleeve covering the glass portion of the bulb to simplify handling prior to installation. By removing the headlamp assembly to replace the bulb, it was easy to make sure I didn't touch the bulb by mistake during installation. If you attempt installation without removing the headlamp assembly as some instructions state, I think you run a very high risk of damaging the bulb because of the extremely tight space in which you have to work.Time will tell how well these bulbs will endure, but for now I'm a very happy buyer and I've saved hundreds of dollars. I would definitely go this route again in the future if I had to do so.

One of the original headlight bulbs finally went out in my 2005 Prius. Checking around with the local brick and mortar auto shops came up moot since they charge $99 per bulb - yikes!Got these since they had decent reviews compared to some of the other, seemingly identical bulbs listed on Amazon.Fit was identical to the OEM factory bulbs that had been installed, so installation was a piece of cake (at least as easy as it could be for this vehicle).Light output is BRIGHT and uniform, no flickering, and high beams toggle on seamlessly. Being 6000K white, these bulbs have a bluish tint to them.Hopefully these last, but even if they don't its still better than paying $99 a bulb!

The bulbs were cheap but worked great. I no longer have that car. I would buy again from this seller as the lights were bright. Installing the lights in was a breeze.

Update:after a few overnight driving trips, the brightness and bulbs' color temp are holding up, Time to order more sets before they are gone!I loved HYB bulbs but have received a few sets of 6000K color temp bulbs with very inconsistent color temp. The "old" 6000K D4R bulbs I ordered from HYB a year ago have brighter and whiter light output then those I've ordered recently.After those disappointed recent orders I decided to give the 8000K version a try. After the install I found them to have color temp right around 6000K but appeared to be very dim. I ended up took them out and left a "1 star" review...To make the story short, while comparing the light output of several D4R/D4S bulbs later, I found out after about 30min or so "burn-in" time, HYB 8000K bulbs became much brighter and the color of the light output is a pleasant daylight white color without blue/green tint, what a surprise! I cancelled my return request and I am ready to order more sets as spares!!!

The headlight makes a bright light with slightly bluish color. They work well and were installed without any problems.

if i could leave one star i would this is the second ones i’ve had the first ones wouldn’t work at all and these ones that i have now work for 30 seconds then stop! DONT BUY!

Use these bulbs in my 04 Volvo V70R for over 5 years now. I drive with my lights always on, and the last set I purchased lasted for approximately 2 years / 30000 miles. Extremely happy with that lifespan. Color temperature seems about right, and both brightness and temperature holds steady until the very end.As other reviewers mentioned, be careful when installing them to not scratch or touch the bulbs, and you'll get the full life out of them. Xenon burns at a very high temp so any kind of scratches or oils will shorten the life by a little.Will continue to buy these as long as they manufacture them.
