Kinky Curly Combo! (Come Clean 8oz & Knot Today & Curling Custard 8oz)

The curling cream in particular works really well! Too bad it’s so expensive, but I’ve tried other brands, and I don’t get as much curl. The shampoo and cream rinse are fine, but my review is really about the curling cream. My hair can be quite wavy/curly, depending on the products I use. It can also have basic waves for the same reason.So, it dries quite hard, and it takes some work to break that up. My hair usually looks best the next day, and even the third, which is a plus in itself. Personally, I like to combine it with a root boosting mousse, something I just started recently with any of my *curly hair* products. I have thick, but fine, fly away hair. It can also look kind of frizzy, but moisturizers tend to make it limp. I don’t have that problem with this combination.I’ve been keeping a database where I rate and make notes on which products work or have issues. I list all of the products I’m using for a particular time period, so I can see which ones did well together. I have been rating 3 days in a row, and then giving a final average. This would get 5 stars all the way through.

I have wavy-curly hair and have been searching for a good clarifying shampoo to use 1-2 times each month. This is the shampoo. It gets your hair squeaky clean. Knot Today is great for adding moisture and even though it is a leave-in conditioner, I found when I rinsed it out the Curling Custard worked better on my hair. I get a better cast resulting in longer lasting wavy curls. Definitely recommend these products!

It's my first time using Kinky curly and I LOVED the conditioner and curling custard. It made my hair soft and made it a bit more manageable. I believe for a seasoned natural hair beauty, detangling would be a breeze. The only thing I didn't like was the shampoo because it was really drying however it did make my hair squeaky clean so i'd recommend using it maybe once a month (or according to your hair clarifying needs) and then deep condition your hair after. The smell of all of the products is beautiful and not tacky which I love. The conditioner doesn't have a thick consistency but a little goes a long way with the slip it has. The custard is a bit thick but not too thick and again, has that slip that is desired !Overall, I'd repurchase again.

I've been completely natural (post transition and "the chop") for over a year now (type 3c/4a hair), and these Kinky Curly products have been my preferred go-to natural hair products...especially for wash-and-go styles! Come Clean works great for me when I need to rid my coils of product build-up. They're completely renewed and restored to (bouncy) life after cleansing with it (and after a good condition of course)! Knot Today is a wonderful, lightweight leave-in conditioner that I use almost daily after I rinse/spritz my hair with water before styling. It's a great detangler! And the Curling Custard is my favorite! My curls are already defined, but the custard enhances the curl definition and makes my coils shinier and sleeker. Moreover, there's no residue after my hair dries (or even when I go to spritz it the next morning) and my coils don't feel super hard as when I've used EcoStyler gel in the past. I'm very happy with these products!!

When I say holy grail....this product is a godsend for MY hairnotice I said MY hair, you have to know what your hair typically likes/responds to in order to the most out of ANY product.Over the past year the texture of my curls went from a tight but clumped 3C to a giant frizz ball mix of 4A-CYou can imagine the frustrationTHIS PRODUCT SAVED ME! I use it mostly for "Wash n go's" but I have used it on a twist out too and it worked fineThe shampoo cleanses without stripping which creates the perfect base for the rest of the systemThe conditioner has excellent slip, granted you may use more than you expect but that's the curse of curly hair unfortunately. I coat each section once, comb through it, then coat it again.The custard is awesome! I will admit its consistency is very gooey/oily and so I stay in the sower as I'm applying it. but once it dries those curly are poppin!I will say it isn't 100% on eliminating frizz so if that's what you are looking for you may need a different styling gel. I don't mind frizz, I actually like my frizz most days so it still gets 5 stars from ME

Used mostly Devacurl products for 2-3 years. Always wanted to try Kinky Curly and got this set. These products work SO much better for my baby-fine, 2C/3A type curls. Doesn't weigh them down and my hair feels cleaner than with Devacurl products. My hair feels softer, yet stronger, too.The gel is great for reactivating second-day (and even third-day) curls. Wet hands, add a bit of gel, scrunch and let air dry.Update: figured out a way to rebottle the Curling Custard to work better for me. Unless you are using in a Dippty-Do fashion (fine-tooth comb dipped into product), the twist-off lid can be a pain to open in the shower or if you forget to replace the lid, water gets in and dilutes the product. Now it's easy and fast to pump the correct amout of gel.Used this small funnel to make bottle filling easy. For the price I was not so happy as a consumer. The products are very small. I just use all 3 of them today and the shampoo dried out my hair horribly and my hair is already dry. The kinky curling gel didn’t curl my hair the gel is very thin and so is the conditioner. I feel like the price could’ve been a little lower considering how small they are and how ineffective the products are.
