Good for the price, but stopped working after several months
ULDATE: After several months it constantly disconnects from wi-fi and is hard to reconnect. My wi-fi hasn’t changed. I’m assuming a relevant component in the camera has gone bad. In retrospect, I’m not surprised. It felt cheap when I opened it. Should have returned it. Into the trash it goes after several months. You get what you pay for. Not wasting anymore on additional cloud backup fees for a camera that records nothing.INITIAL REVIEW: Upon opening the box, I was concerned. There was something rattling around inside the camera. I had to take the whole thing apart with a mini Phillips head screwdriver to get it out. Turned out to be a tiny screw. No idea where it came from. The housing is nothing special, so be extra careful not to drop the camera. It feels cheap and flimsy. We’ll see how long it lasts. It’s hard to believe the camera is outdoor and water resistant. We’ll see.Mounting was a bit of a pain since the camera itself blocks access by a long screwdriver to the bottom screw holes on the mounting plate. That’s just dumb. I had to use a right angle adapter on my drill to drive the screws in. I was mounting to hardwood, so trying to drive those screws with a short, fat Phillips would have been very hard without large pilot holes. It’s not make or break, but it’s an annoying hassle. The manufacturer should fix this.Pairing the camera with the app was easy, though a bit of a mystery. The process didn’t seem to follow the directions exactly.WI-FI range is excellent. The camera is outside on a detached garage that is on the opposite side of the house as the Internet gateway/router. Still the signal is between 50 and 80 percent. The average seems to be around 70. That’s great! The two antennas do the job, and they can be pointed every which way.The app has a bit of a learning curve. There are lots of features. It will take time to explore. But at least it’s not under-featured.Best video resolution delivers pretty decent quality for this kind of camera. The zoom and pan and tilt controls are pretty cool, though they are a bit “sticky”/“laggy.” Not bad, though. The AI motion detection seems hyper sensitive, but during the day it did correctly identify me as a “human” (but ignored cats, bird, squirrels, etc), and the tracking was excellent. The camera followed me everywhere. It was creepy cool.At night the motion detection was not as good. Lots of false positives. There were many humans detected, which at first was terrifying when I read the log since I’m in a rural area, but when I looked at the stored clips, no humans. You have night vision options—IR or, alternatively, full color that is brought to life with the LEDs around the camera lens. I set it to auto and it bounced back and forth between the modes. I kind of like that because you might get lucky if it switches to color mode and you’re able to see a license plate number. IR washes out plates. You can see more and farther with IR, but everything is black and white. And like I said: no license plates with IR. The downside of the color mode is that the lights come on when the camera detects something and starts recording. This would alert a potential bad guy to the camera’s location and active status. But maybe that’s good if it scare them off!The push notifications are nice, and you can upgrade for a very small monthly fee to text alerts or even phone calls (like SimpliSafe). I also added the cloud storage feature for $5.99 per month. That’s worth the cost. If someone steals or breaks the camera, you’ll still have the video of them doing it! But again, because the camera was too sensitive to motion at night, I had to turn the push notifications off so that my phone wouldn’t keep waking me up. That’s fine. This isn’t my primary security system. It’s just the part that gives me a record of outdoor activity. I don’t need the camera to warn me. If you do, I hope you can figure out how to dial this thing down.Overall I’m happy with this. They seem to have thought of almost everything. I wanted a small, black, WI-FI camera that plugs into a wall outlet. My only concern is whether this thing will last (it feels cheap) and also the fact that the lowest operating temp is -4 Fahrenheit. We get below that in the winter where I live, and I’m not sure this thing will survive the winter. We’ll see. For the price I figured I’d give it a shot!

I wouldn’t recommend
It’s never works correctly. Always disconnect from wifi. You can set the router right next to it and it won’t work. The camera is so slow. I don’t even attempt to use this anymore

Was good for 3 months only
It was very good for 3 months. After that, camera just died completely during a storm. Funy thing its the only camera that died that day. I have 8 more different brand, and they are all good. My time window for return already passed. Amazon returns says its only 30 days. However, camera was really good during that time. I was very happy with it.

Safety
Everyone should have some sort of home security... especially now that they are so affordable and easy to set up - there's really no reason why homeowners (and even renters) shouldn't get one, especially when you can find one on Amazon for under $50. Comes with stuff to mount the camera, camera is able to rotate 180°, and picture is good quality.

Camera set up
I ordered this camera for my dad and it is just giving me the hardest time. His big thing is that it’s wireless with the exception of power cord. But it just will not connect to the wifi for some reason while with other cameras I had no problem. So if anyone has had this problem and would want to help me would be much appreciated.
