After verifying we had no septic, well or plumbing issues, we found this as a solution. Our vent is horizontal, not vertical. We had the option to add an elbow and extension pipe, but what a hassle. Drilled a quarter inch hole in the center of this cap. Placed it on the vent pipe and secured it with the metal band and screw. No more stink. This little cap completely fixed the problem, quickly and easily. Highly recommend. Review: Seals well with no leaks. - The caps are made out of flexible rubber, and they fit perfect perfectly. I noticed that the size of the caps can accommodate a schedule 40 versus an irrigation 8 inch. The straps are high-quality and they work well. No leaks. ## Features - NOTE: This cap is ideally designed to be about 1/4" larger than your pipe’s outer diameter to allow proper clamp tightening. It fits most DWV - cast iron, PVC, ABS, and Schedule 40 pipes. Example: Pipe OD 3.5"= Cap ID 3.75" ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00HNWADI2 | | Best Sellers Rank | #13,845 in Industrial & Scientific ( See Top 100 in Industrial & Scientific ) #299 in Pipe Fittings | | Brand | SUPPLYGIANT | | Brand Name | SUPPLYGIANT | | Color | Black | | Connector Type | Reducer | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,643 Reviews | | Exterior Finish | Stainless Steel | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00804595017302 | | Included Components | cap | | Item Dimensions | 4 x 3 x 1.5 inches | | Item Type Name | Pipe Cap with Stainless Steel Clamps, | | Item Weight | 4.8 ounces | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 4 x 3 x 1.5 inches | | Manufacturer | Everflow | | Manufacturer Part Number | 1730 | | Material | Other | | Material Type | Other | | Model Number | 1730 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Set Name | No Set | | Size | 3" Pipe (3-3/4" Inner) | | Thread Type | NPT | | UPC | 804595017302 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** SUPPLYGIANT - **Color:** Black - **Connector Type:** Reducer - **Exterior Finish:** Stainless Steel - **Item Weight:** 4.8 ounces - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 4 x 3 x 1.5 inches - **Material:** Other - **Number of Pieces:** 1 - **Size:** 3" Pipe (3-3/4" Inner) - **Thread Type:** NPT ## Images ![SUPPLYGIANT 3952Pipe Cap, 3", Black - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/5142r122oiL.jpg) ![SUPPLYGIANT 3952Pipe Cap, 3", Black - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71oG66Wx3-L.jpg) ![SUPPLYGIANT 3952Pipe Cap, 3", Black - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71l5Ep6CrOL.jpg) ![SUPPLYGIANT 3952Pipe Cap, 3", Black - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71tfV4-rNxL.jpg) ![SUPPLYGIANT 3952Pipe Cap, 3", Black - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Y30w5Hd-L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is this cap UV rated for outdoor exposure?** A: I am not sure but I use mine outdoor. I have it for about a year and so far it seems fine. **Q: What is the heat rating?** A: 140 Degrees F. **Q: Any idea if this would stretch enough to fit over the outside of a 3" coupling? i would like to plug a 3" coupling that has the pipe cut off flush.** A: I bought 2 of the 4 inch size. They fit 4 inch pvc pretty tight. They would definitely not fit over the a 4 inch coupling. The 3 inch size most likely will NOT fit over a 3 inch coupling. **Q: The OD of my pvc sewer pipe is 3.5". What size cap should i get?** A: Probably the 4 inch pipe and tighten the clamps the 3 inch might be to tight ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic solution *by οΏ½***οΏ½ on January 29, 2026* Our septic vent pipe was spewing nasty stink.
