Q: Can I use this capo on a trumpet?

Sure. If you are gluing your mouthpiece, it might work like a c-clamp. Unfortunately, it’s not big enough to keep holding one of the valves down - what I’ve heard is the most common use of a capo on a trumpet.

Yes, I believe it should work. I can use it on all my guitars and a mandolin. The length of the rubber on the fret side is exactly 2 inches long. As far as total depth, that's a little difficult to say. I can tell you if I move it up past the 7th fret on my acoustic, I have the set screw backed out most of the way. I love mine, and it's in tune up and down...can't say that about the tigers

Q: Is the c1b the same capo as the C1 and S1 just in brass?

The short answer is yes and the Shubb's are the best capos for the money in my humble opinion. I bought my first Shubb in 1986 and then bought a second a couple years ago for a different guitar. I believe the C1B is for brass; the C1S is for stainless steel and the C1 is brass with nickel-plating. Mine are brass but I believe all three will work equally well and last indefinitely.
