A must have for Dynamat Xtreme Installs
I originally thought that this roller was not going to be useful and was a waste of money. I had been using a plastic roller before purchasing this and thought there was no need to spend money on anything else. However, once I used this wooden roller, I was sold. It may be small but works amazingly for pressing down Dynamat. Works much better than the plastic roller. I also purchased the larger Dynamt branded rubber roller but did not like it as much. Sure it covers more area and is good for large sheets but I don't feel that is presses as hard. Plus the wooden on fits in tight areas. If you are planning on purchasing a roller (which you really should), get the wooden one.

Used to install sound deadening material
This roller is perfect for pushing the sound deadening material onto surfaces. The material needs to be in contact with the surface for it to work.

Awesome Tool but Poor Construction
I just finished my Dynamat installation in my car and this tool was infinitely valuable! However, this particular roller was below what I'd consider to be of good construction. The two metal peices holding the roller cylindar in place kept bending outward causing it to dislodge mid use. I probably had to stop my work, disassemble the roller, and repair it at least 10 times over the course of this single car installation. Is a roller like this worth it, DEFINITELY! However, I'd check the reveiws on a few others of like design and buy one of those.A tip for those installing Dynamat, look for one a little thinner than this also. It worked great and I wouldn't demerit it over the width, but I found that it was slightly wider than many of the molded grooves in the car body. A slightly narrower one would have worked better.

Perfect
I don't know what the other customer's problems were, but I used this to Dynamat the entire cab of my Ford truck and it worked great. It is much cheaper than other similar items and does the job quite well. I keep it in my toolbox and it comes in handy for other jobs. One quick tip, spray some WD-40 on the center pin to help it roll more smoothly.

Aparently Economy Means Small
Instead of calling this an "Economy" roller they should call it small. It is well built and great for getting into small spaces. You will want a normal sized roller to go with it.

Multi-use tool
Good quality and can be used for several different applications. Besides as an insulation installation tool my favorite is for pressing opening fabric seams when sewing, or piecing quilts!

Not a huge fan could be sturdier
It breaks if you put too much weight on it when rolling. Did the trick though

Works well, easy to fit into tighter areas.

Good tool
A must for proper install of sound deadener.....prefer the wooden type over metal, less likely to cause damage in case you slip and contact painted surface.....
