It isn't overly big so unless you have a really small baking pan I can't think why you would need to cut it. The main part of the mat is almost exactly the same size as a typical round banneton. From what I have read, most of these types of silicone baking mats contain a fiberglass core and because of this I would be hesitant to cut it.
