Holmes Smoke Grabber Ashtray Replacement Filter, Carbon Filter Replacement, Pack of 2, HAPF7-U8

These are perfect for my smokeless ashtray! I don’t smoke cigarettes as I’m allergic but I use this for my medication. It’s very helpful. Yes you can still smell it but not as much and the smoke definitely goes into the filter as it’s pulled into the fan inside the ashtray. But only if the product is left sitting in the tray, not from the air. That’s what my purifier is for.

This my second Holmes ash tray. The first lasted a year of daily use. I decided to replace it after the inside became totally nasty with nicotine residue.Filters: Why buy filters for $6 bucks/two? Once a month I take mine out for a "refurb". (NEW) Scrape off the existing fine (white/yellow) filter behind the charcoal (shrarp knife). Soak the charcoal part in a coffee cup with vinegar- rinse-let it dry. Cut a piece of paper towel or two layers of Kleenex, same size as the charcoal filter. WA LA. Free is a great price. These don't wear out. Just clean and replace the "fine" filter part..> It uses 2 Alkaline D cells to run the fan.Get maybe 30 hours of run time. I know you have to remember to close the lid otherwise the fan runs when the ashtray is not being used. D cells are not cheap even when bought in 8-10 quantity from Amazon.> You could invest in 2-4 High capacity RECHARGEABLE D cells and a charger. One time investment.>I hacked my smoke grabber to use rechargeable18650 Li Ion , 3.5 vollt 4 ah rechargeable batteries.One battery good for a day or so. I had several of these on hand- commonly used in LED flashlights. $.50 for a battery holder. Works great. No advanced elecronics skills needed, jut some wire, battery holder and a soldering gun. I may further modify it to run from a 3VDC plug in transformer.- Skip the batteries entirely.Non smokers in this house REALLY love this ashtray (among the reasons I bought it.) No more lingering second hand smoke/haze in the air. Its a solid product, just learn how to use and maintain it.

The concept of the smoke Grabber was a great one....however it doesn't work as well as I'd borrow hoped. The only time it actually "grabs" any smoke is when the cigarette or cigar is sitting inside the ashtray and the lid only open to about 30°. The filter also becomes extremely nasty within 3 to 5 days of use by a single smoker.

I am a smoker, yeh I know I should quit, but this keeps my computer room smelling fresh, takes the smoke odor out of the room. Ty.

Yeah, they are filters, but they fit in an ashtray that is a total waste of money. If a cigarette is sitting in it, smoldering, yes, it disappears the smoke, but what about when you pick up the cig and inhale and exhale, are you going to blow into the ashtray? Just another gimmick that looks good, but impractical.

I recently bought these and the ashtray by Holmes. I haven’t used these yet.

2 small 2" filters for basically $10? Other ashtray filters sell, like, 10 for the same price. I like the Holmes ashtray (when they work & miss the model with the plug-in adapter), so I need these filters. But they are ridiculously overpriced & expensive. I need to find a cheaper alternative.

Smoke eaters help and I use when I have company. Problem is they get smelly quickly and need to be cleaned. Filters are expensive and need to be changed. I find none of them are good for daily use but if used sparingly they definitely help with non smokers
