Decent budget product from a quality name
After reading an article about all the unpleasant and potentially unhealthy bacteria that build up within shower heads, decided it was time for a replacement. Since all the other fittings in our bathroom are Grohe it was my preference to match the name but, if I am going to replace the head at least annually as my article recommended, didn't want to buy anything expensive. This shower head is fine. Its moulding is quite stylish with a decent chrome effect and almost white nozzles. It is slightly noisy but happy to accept the manufacturers explanation that this is caused by the movement of a little plastic ball inside (which is supposed to reduce limescale). Although advertised as a two-jet type, there are actually another two interim groves you can lock into moving from one setting to the other (there's no external lever so you have to rotate the nozzles with a finger or thumb).

Very noisy shower head.....contacted manufacturer....
Very noisy shower head, can hear water rushing around in the head, never had this before, with any other shower head, maybe need to buy the more expensive one....Got this from manufacturersThank you for contacting us. I'm sorry to hear there is still a problem with your Grohe product. The showerheads have a little built-in plastic ball which moves around inside the waterways keeping it limescale free. We can only imagine this is the noise you referring to.I'm afraid this is not a design issue and all our shower heads would work the same way.Kind regards,TomasGrohe Warranty Team

Check the type of washer you have on your shower hose
I almost sent this back because it was so useless, but in the end managed to get it working properly. When I first attached this to my shower hose, water dribbled from the connection and the pressure out of the end was sub-par. I almost removed the filter, as someone else mentioned doing in another review. I’m glad I didn’t because I later realised that the real issue was the interaction between the washer on the end of my hose and the filter situated at the entrance to the shower head.If you look into the end of this shower head, there is a black plastic mesh which is apparently there to stop build-up of limescale. The manufacturer has fitted this close to the end of the connection because (as per the instructions) you are meant to just rub your finger over it to clear it should it ever get clogged up. In theory this design decision should be OK.However, in practice I realised the water flow issues I had experienced were because of the type of rubber/silicone washer which was in place at the end of my shower hose and its interaction with this filter. I suspect at least some of the negative reviews about water flow are related to this also.In my case, my hose washer was not just a flat disc but is domed in the centre which slightly protrudes into the shower head to make an even better seal. Unfortunately, on this design of head it meant my washer contacted the mesh filter. Not only did that stop the hose and head fitting together correctly (prevented full tightening = leak) it also seems to have partially blocked off the water flow right next to the mesh resulting in less flow out of the head. This may not work for everyone, but I turned my washer around so the domed part was facing the hose instead of the head. After this there was no leak and the pressure out of the head was better. Of course, other alternatives would include replacing the washer with a completely flat one, cutting out the filter in the head or using a different hose altogether.I can’t imagine the type of washer on my shower hose is rare and so I’m surprised the manufacturer hadn’t realised this potential problem and redesigned this already – or at least had something in the instructions warning about this potential issue. Maybe they only use completely flat washers in shower hoses in Germany?

Grohe is quality
You can only expect quality from Grohe and this shower head doesn't disappoint. Simple but nice and stylish design, good functionality (actually has 3 modes, there's a middle mode between rain and jet).Easy descaling is typical for Grohe. Bought the previous version of this head for my parents couple of years ago and it still works like new.I was a bit worried about the water pressure, I have a Mira Sport electric shower. It wasn't any worse than the previous, smaller shower head and is strong enough even on rain setting. It's a low range price wise but it has everything I need with added comfort.

Not worth the Grohe name
I got this as a replacement having a lot of trust and experience with Grohe. I am disappointed with this item for its ability to deliver a strong jet of water. the spray on all 3 of the settings is weak and more leek than shower. I have no issue with water pressure and the head it was replacing and also the one that I subsequently replaced this with, both worked perfectly. The hint is in the description which states "Rain" For some reason this rain pattern seems to simply be leaking water as opposed to a spray. This was not what I wanted as it uses the same water but takes longer to rinse off and has no massage effect (even in that setting).I replaced it with another brand and model I was able to test with and now have a much better spray and pattern. Sorry Grohe but this one is not one of your best. Perhaps if you want what it delivers then it would be for you, but not me. It does look nice and functions fine. Also does not hold much water inside the head once the water is off, which is good for limescale thus cleaning and also stops dripping. In short - not as good as other Grohe heads I have used. I sent it back.
